I think Hodcroft does have an affinity to the club and does have the clubs best interests at heart. He has been chairman for 17 years so it would difficult to argue against that.

It also backs up the talk that these TMH dodge pots had links to people that you wouldn't want anywhere near our club, so we could look back at this episode on years to come as a lucky escape.

Whilst I agree we have probably dodged a bullet from TMH, more concerning is the fact that Green and Hodcroft didn't even do the most basic of internet searches to uncover these dodgy links before entering a takeover agreement with them. Just remember if TMH had everything in place by the 31st of January deadline the deal would have been completed and Ken wouldn't have been able to ride in as the saviour.

He totally neglects to mention the fact that a club employee found TMH and continues in his current role or the fact Pools are no further forward now under IOR who will invest nothing.

The staff have left in a steady trickle.
Players have been openly criticising the regime and laughable training before RM arrived.

I think Nick usually writes well balanced articles but in this one he seems of gone over to the darkside of the force. This whole mess with TMH2014 has been the only thing that's sparked IOR into any positive action with Moore being appointed.

If Hodcroft is Pools' saviour it's only because he's finally put up the sails to slow down the ship's drift towards the rocks of relegation.

I hope Loughlin would be so damning of any consortium of local businesses that had links to convicted criminals as he has been TMH.

My guess is that Loughlin, who I've met twice and certainly couldn't be called a mate of mine, has been given some off the record inside info about what went on and he trusts his source. His angle on things would probably make more sense if he could openly say who told him what.

I'm a lot more cynical than him about why Ken might want to stop the deal with TMH though. This is pure speculation but if you sell to people who are so dodgy that they attract attention from the national press and the revenue you might find the last few years of books being examined - not something that our Norweigan owners seem to be very keen on. I've got no idea what is in the books but it makes you wonder. If there was anything iffy, say to do with tax for the sake of argument, you'd certainly need to keep your chief exec who knows all about it onboard wouldn't you?

Not really cos he'd be involved. If he knows about "anything iffy" he should be reporting it. Letting it go makes him just as guilty.

Facts are, between ken and Russ the club is on life support. The only way to get out of it was to back the manager in January. They waited till 1 day after to block the takeover. They have lost the majority of the fans for a reason. Me personally this can't be healed. I can only speak for myself though. If others want to be sucked in then that's up to them. Hopefully they don't because we are only going in one direction with these 2 running the show.
