Who were we playing (think it was an insignificant "cup" game....not like the FA or league cup) when Peter Billing, standing near the centre spot, got caught out by a ball over the top. Pete ran manfully to catch the sluggish oppo forward who burst through towards our goal. He never looked like he would catch the forward up....but he managed to get to within about 3 yards of the feller........had even managed to edge him away from the goal, running towards the corner flag......great stuff Pete....keep him there while your defensive colleagues catch up.
Only for him to "wait" until forward had entered the penner box so as to hurl his burly body at him and scythe him down for a stonewall penner. Don't think Peter played for us again after this!!!! clappp

Wasn't that against Torquay, mid week in the mid 90s for a last minute draw

It was Torquay is the League to make it 2-2 in the last minute. I'm pretty sure he sat with his back on the Rink End advertising boards as the penalty was converted. To be fair he was probably just paggered from running that far and needed a rest. The only time he used to run any distance normally was the blam useless free kicks into the wall (or orbit)! Awful player milk turned quicker.
