Hopefully Bates uses this chance in midfield to prove himself. We have plenty pace up front, Franks needs to show pace isn't all he has.

Do you think franks has pace? Without exaggeration I am struggling to remember the last time he went past anyone

Not blistering pace but against defenders at this level I'd say he does. Not being able to get past his man might be more due to his lack of ability rather than pace. I can't remember ever seeing a poorer decision maker play for Pools as him.

Even if he breaks with the ball he still seems to get caught. He is a terrible decision maker. He has opportunities to cross and checks back constantly. Regardless of what happens this season he must be out next year
