I remember (just) coming back from a Carlisle night match a few yrs ago and the the little shop outside the ground only had Tennents Super Strength cans in for the trip home.
I bought 4 and was only half way down the first one and not yet reached a dual carriageway and I'd lost the power of speech :uhoh:  :uhoh:

We used to bring a flagon of scrumpy home when we went on holidays to the west country. It would be an enormous thing with a warning message on the side saying 'once open, consume within 3 days'......

On my third bottle of Leffe - that's 6.5 percent and given the option thats about the weakest beer I would do when choosing bottles for home. Others include Chimay 8 percent or duvel 9 percent. Forget pints, I drink them in small bottles or halves and they're fantastic. They taste great, you get drunk on them, but you dont need as much. Quality not quantity.
Wouldnt touch that super strength shite talked about above though.
Going out and on the pints I'd be after Old Peculiar, Riggwelter, Wylam etc, starting at about 5 percent minimum.
5 - 8 percent is what I'm looking for. Cant drink as much as I was used to and wouldnt want to thank God.
