It is an admission that in all likelihood we are down, he admits he was unable to build a side to keep us up but will do the best he can without committing to anything long term for next season.

Seems a reasonable conclusion to come to, lets hope he has the ability to build a conference topping side.

We need to commit to long term to get a football league quality side for the conference.

No point going daft in the summer and signing a load of football league cast offs, we need players to get us back up and into a winning habit.

Why are you even surprised, they STATED that loan signings would happen, read the feckin interviews properly, if I ran the club, it is what I would do until the club was safe or relegated and then put new plans in place for next season.

But that won`t stop the drama squad having a pop, keep the faith brothers :romance-grouphug:

There is very little difference in quality between the Conf and League 2. So why would you wait? any players that can do a job, are good players now would still be good players next season. Obviously its in their contracts that a wage drops occurs in the case of a relegation but a bonus is paid on survival.

Obviously no one wants us to sign shit players for the sake of it.

When TMH came in they said money was available to keep us up and they'd do everything they could to do that.

Obviously something's changed.,

What if the only players who are willing to sign permanently for us at the moment are players who aren't good enough to keep us up, and the ones that ARE good enough to prevent relegation don't fancy taking the chance, or signing up to an almost inevitable relegation pay-cut? It certainly sounds that way.

If you were a player, would you want to join a club on the way out of the league, or join in the summer, after it is relegated? That way, you wouldn't have the relegation on your CV, but you would be part of the new squad brought in to challenge for promotion again.

With regards to starting the rebuilding now - there will be many more players willing to come in the summer (whichever division we are in), so why buy now, when there is a chance of getting a better option in the summer rebuilding? If we bought a decent Right-Back now to fix that problem position, then a much better player came available in the Summer, then we would have lost the chance of taking on the much better player, and for what benefit?

I think the point is, even some signs of us starting to rebuild now would be nice, some signs that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Instead of short term, short term, short tem.

It is the fact they appear to have ruled out signing anyone regardless of how good etc they are!

If you could get Scott Harrison now why risk he getting poached in the summer by having some good games at Pools on loan

The thing is the previous regime of which we know RG was one, didn't have any sort of plan or scouting network on how to get players.

This bunch are being advised by the same fella.

They gave Walton a fat & long contract without the manager seeing him play

and I don't think anyone looks at a players CV tbh

I dont even know the new owners name anymore, thats how quiet he is. Usually you would expect plenty of press interviews etc but there is very little and he seems to say less than even Hodcroft.

I understand were not an attractive proposition at the moment but if you pay the money then players will come. Its as simple as that.

Ok we must surely be paying the Mansfield strikers wages in full but I expected a bit more when you said there would be funds available??

That will include getting rid of; Flinders, Austin, Compton, Franks, Collins (to a point) to start with. All been the core of a team that was relegated, flirted with relegation and now sit bottom of the FL. All mentally losers

Could be a fourth. Moore has been led into false promises
or a Fifth: Moore is another puppet who is being dictated to from above? bbolt

Jeff Stelling posted on here on the day of the takeover that owners are going to spend serious money on the team. I doubt he was talking about a few young lads on loan.

Not always the best idea. The teams that have had the most success at that level have generally had managers that have been there and know the division like the back of their hand. It took Luton long enough with a decent budget to get back to the football league and even then, it coincided with getting a manager in with a track record of getting teams out of that league. Plenty have failed.

takeover is clearly a sham

nobody at HUFC has any other intention than running the club into the ground, and to attempt to get their hands on the land cheap because the football club no longer exists

and if they aren't trying to do just that, then they are doing a fucking good impression of trying to create this situation

What do people want this land for anyway? What value does it have and why would it be desirable to anyone?

Let's at least give them a chance here they've been at the club five minutes.

I've said it before but land behind Belk Street is as desirable as Monaco or Mayfair. Especially if you can see Rasuls from the site.

This land clearly has summit under it.

I got my little Un a metal detector for Christmas, I'm off down that land behind pools on Saturday see if I can find the treasure buried there.

Hey I'm sceptical too, dissolutioned, gutted infact at our current predicament, but we are fortunate that someone has come along prepared to takeover the running of the club in the first place, and I'm thankful for that, even a club as mighty as Glasgow Rangers struggled to find new owners after their recent debacle.
Surely it's got to be a better position than 3 weeks ago. Let's be sensible which players playing well at clubs above us in the league system would come here from a better club - even for a hefty fee - without us having to pay them what would be regarded as silly money in wages.

Let me clarify
no football club any more means it is easier to get it off the council for fuck all. In the meantime they make as much money off the mug fans as they can before people stop handing over their cash to people who have still not made clear their intentions

I never realised I had to spell it out like that

They can fuck off until they say what they are doing here

Who the fuck are they?

If we get to friday and no decent signings come in and i mean decent cos money talks then we will know one way or another if the new owners are for real or fake.
No home games for 3 weeks while rest of transfer window is open.
Will they deliver the funds russ said they have or will they blag us along the way?

We are debt free and will lose 750K for going down about the same amount that will be coming in from peterboro.
We should be building for a quick return to the league now not messing about with loan signings and youth players. Why not give our youth players a chance if they not going to spend.
If the mass clearout dosent happen in may then it shows the club has no ambition whatsoever and the yorkshire mafia click still have to much of a say!

Little rant over for now
