These fines handed out by the FA to managers and players. Apparently Dave Whelan has been fined 50k for calling that bloke in Cardiff a chink. Without commenting on the rights and wrongs, 50 friggin grand for using the term 'chinky' seems outrageous.

Surely someone will bring a legal challenge at some point.

Don't you know he once broke his leg in a cup final?

Odd one this, because the FA say he is not racist and did not intend to cause any offence. So what is he guilty of....?

The whole country is basically fucked.

His quote was

“When I was growing up we used to call the Chinese ‘chingalings’. We weren’t being disrespected [sic]. We used to say: ‘We’re going to eat in chingalings.’ The Chinese weren’t offended by that. That was the name everyone in Wigan called it [the first Chinese cafe in Wigan].”

That is as racist as me saying when we were kids we used to refer to Charlies as the Paki shop. It doesn't mean I'm racist it means I'm reflecting on something from childhood that I didn't realise at the time was offensive.

He also said this about Jewish people

“Do you think Jewish people chase money a little bit more than we do? I think they are very shrewd people.”

Which isn't racist either unless you're a total fucking moron.

Yet the moron who put on Twitter that the person who caught Ebola whilst helping treat the victims was a "sweaty Glaswegian" gets off scot free.. I know what was far more offensive to me.

You're kind of missing the point. My question is about the legal basis for sticking someone 50k (whether they can afford it or not!). If I drove home completely pissed my fine would be a fraction of that.

On what legal grounds do the FA think they can take that kind of money out of someones pocket just because they work in the same industry.

I suppose they can charge whatever ludicrous figure they want or you're barred from the clique.... surely that's their only bargaining point.
£50,000 for the heinous crime of being a bit of a duffer is ridiculous.

How much would it cost to have Prince Phillip as chairman of your football club?

If the next government was to be decided by the folk of this forum, reckon UKIP would have a good chance ...

Undoubtedly in Chilly Jock Ebola Land. But, I think they're going to surprise a lot of people simply because of the alternatives.

Labour - Ed Milliband - unelectable nuff said.
Conservative - People dislike Cameron and Osbourne.
Liberal - Clegg has lost credibility.

UKIP - will attract a lot of votes.

Aye, but not for most. UKIP will of course pick up the extremist vote too now that the BNP is a busted flush. I'm not comparing the two because I don't believe they're on the same planet but there are those thick enough to believe that they are.

There are plenty of people who historically voted Tory, including me, who just don't like the arrogance and patronising nature of Cameron's lot and Milliband is just daft so where do these people turn to in the polling booth? The greens yes for some but I suggest that UKIP are seen as a more serious option.

Voting is an illusion. I will not elaborate cos deep down you all know why. Although a genuine humanitarian party could make a difference if it was allowed to. Which it won't be, the same as anywhere on this planet

All parties in Britain work for the same paymasters so it is a waste of time unless a genuine independent party is elected, which everyone is told cannot happen, so nobody follows their instincts and instead effectively votes for the mainstream parties they are effectively compelled to vote for

Big bag of shite it is and I do not think anyone will agree, but fuck you all!!!
