Is determined to get it right first time, no signings without his approval, good on him though Scott Harrison would be a great addition.

Fair play to ronnie glad the old regime of russ calling the shots is history.

Russ wants to work on getting ronnie on a deal until end of next season.
And then negotiate getting rid of the deadwood players.

UNITED WILL BE BACK

I have a feeling that Green only negotiates for his own employment security. We can but hope it is all a thing of the past indeed

Harrison aye, cos we've seen him. But no more of these shite players like Campbell and the likes, and all these other short term deals like him from Cambridge, or Scmeltz, and people like that.
It was obvious Murray got fucked over by Green so Moore can't allow the same thing to happen again, cos if it does, then I think there will be a queue a mile long to hang the people running the club!!

To be fair to Russ on this one, there isnt much point in getting lads in on loan for 3 months, then not making arrangements to sign them if they look up to the job.

Had he done nothing, and the lad then fucked off and signed for someone else he would have got slated, so in a no win situation really.

Shame we didnt do something similar with Christian Burgess last season, who has been a regualr starter for a good League One club this season.

From what Ive seen Harrison looks a decent prospect and signing him is a real no brainer, especially as he clearly wants to sign for us.

we could easily have had Burgess, Harrison, Dolan & Wyke and probably wouldn't be as big a hole as we are right now.

Not a bad thing. The Mansfield game showed how weak we are aerially, even when Harewood was on the pitch.

Every player in a league 2 side should be 6ft minimum

Maybe 20 years ago when the pitches were bad, not now, you have to be able to the compete physically but fitness and desire is more in important than height.

Not sure what bad pitches have to do with it, but okay why not have height, fitness and desire then?

6ft isnt that tall these days like

Because teams played more direct on dreadful pitches. Like us in 90/91 how many goals did we score were we completely bypassed the sand pit in the middle of the pitch for Baker to flick it on to Allon?

The games evolved, pitches are better more teams try and play. Teams at this level are lot more professional and a lot fitter. The days of John Beck being succesful managers are gone. You stated every player in League Two should be 6 feet, that's clearly not right. Wasn't the League Two player or the year last year Gary Roberts? Was the lad Redshaw for Morecambe the other day even 5 foot!? Are last two teams that have done well at this level haven't been full of six footers. I can see where Moore is coming from trying to get a few big lads in though as we desperately need a bit of aerial presence but I also think one of the key problems in the this squad is fitness. If you haven't got lads who can close down and get in people's faces for 90 minutes you'll struggle to win matches at this level.

I'd prefer 11 assassins in the current situation.

Old Chinese proverb: player with broken leg no score goals.

I was just going off Ronnie Moores previous sides, they tended to be big physical units with a couple of flair players.

His teams always had at least a couple of players I loathed and detested. Someone somewhere else posted a list of players he's allegedly tried to sign and all of them were massive, which led me to believe the list was probably genuine.

I agree matey. Ronnie brought his Rotherham team to Pools in ? late nineties and they battered us. Leo Fortune West gave our defence the run around and bagged 3 goals. Hated and respected him in equal measure.

Fortune West had some good games against us but can't remember a hat trick?

Could be a spurious rumour but I seem to remember reports that off the pitch big Leo was as camp as Christmas.

Still struggling to see how that justifies not having 6 footers in the team. We scored them flick ons because Allon was as fit as a butchers dog no more no less, and could run onto them. 6 footers are the answer in the absence of any good players less than 6ft. Those players are about and can compete at this level, but we find it difficult to locate them/ keep them or afford them, Luke James excepted.
