I reckon we must have used the less players than any year since, I can only remember the below but am sure I am missing some

Cox, Poole, Nobbs, Mcphail, Bennyworth, A Davies, McKinnon, Smith, Olsson, Tupling, Tinkler, Dalton, Honour,Allon, Baker, Fletcher, McDonald

Who have I missed ? Was Heaney on loan to us that year ??

Successful teams usually use fewer players during a season, example in 89/90 we used 40+ including half a dozen keepers

Was talking to Horden about this the other week but the likes of john Mcphail just don't exist any more. Players with his equivalent experience today have already made enough money and wouldn't 'lower' themselves to such a challenge.

Oh I wish we had that back four......I mean any 11 of those players today sadx

Mark Nesbitt played at Right Back in the 0-0 draw at Rochdale right near the end of the season.

2 days before the birth of my daughter, was in the hospital visiting our lass, and kept popping out to ring up the club call. Was over the moon when my daughter Molly was born on the Thursday and our lass said I could go to Peterborough on the Saturday.

I was at the game but didn't know the answer til I looked at Mr Mad's website. Indeed, he didn't play, not that we missed him that night

TBF they were as bad that night as we are now, strangely enough they went bust not long after, surely a fate that could of awaited us, if things had carried on as they were

My eldest Daughter was born April 30th, the night we beat Gillingham 1-0, Joe Allon lobbed Harvey Lim.

Smith, Bennyworth, McPhail & Nobbs in the back 4 as I recall. Hat-trick from Dalts?

That promotion season was the last one you could swap ends from town end to rink end anytime during the game.

Away end was half the town end on clarence road side.

Chip - seem to remember the whole crowd being about 1500 - I seem to remember about 100 poolies but I think that might have just been all the celebrating of 5 goals away from home. Happy days.

Looking back, what makes the Aldershot game special is that there was no real reason for any of the 50 or whatever to be there really. Any hope of promotion seemed to have died a couple of days earlier with a defeat at Lincoln. Even after the Aldershot game it was back down to earth with a home defeat, but after that it was all systems go. The Stockport game was the one were I really thought, shit this could be it, our first promotion since I started going in 1971.

Yes lost 2-1 to Blackpool in the last minute and never looked back, the bloke who got there winner was Rodwell or someone, think he came from some disbanded non-league team Coln Dynamoes

My eldest was born just after midnight on Sunday March 9th 2008. A few minutes earlier would have been the day we beat Gillingham 4-0.

I remember our lass being in labour after the final score, thinking he was destined to be a Poolie after a result like that.
