Fighting for his life after beimg hit by a lorry on the A64 this morning. Hope he pulls through. Plus also that awful incident in Glasgow, stuff like this happening is always shit but it's seems ten times more shit when it happens at this time of year.

Hope he makes it, always came across as a thoroughly decent bloke. Some real tragedies occurring at the moment.

Just read that myself and that he'd tried to take his own life before, never knew he was a depression sufferer. He seems so enthusiastic and bubbly in his media work. Let's just hope he pulls through.

Terrible news, was caught in the aftermath traffic for a couple of hours going to work and when I saw the air ambulance feared the worst, seems brighter now, fingers crossed.

If he has tried to commit suicide by hitting a truck then I have more sympathy for the truck driver. How the hell do you think he feels about almost killing another person, even if its not his fault. Its a bit like those people who chose to stand on the railway tracks. They don't just end their lives, they wreck the lives of a lot of the drivers, who cannot bear to get back into the cab.
If it was an accident then yes - very sad.
Lets get things in perspective.

You dont need to blame or feel sorry for anyone, if a man feels so depressed that he is prepared to throw himself infront of a lorry he's obviously not in a place to think properly.

Let's not turn this into another narrow minded dig at mental health and suicide, the ched evans stuff was bad enough, we dont need to sink further.

The perspective is that a man with a family is in hospital, let's hope he gets the care he needs.

Thats all that counts.

Well put Yubep. If you've never had dealings with friends or family members who suffer with mental health problems then you're very lucky.
