I am aware that the Chinese do not view animals in the same way as we do in the West, however, Sky News have revealed sickening cruelty being inflicted on animals all over the country in the name of 'entertainment'. Most disturbing is the feeding of live animals to packs of tigers whilst the delighted crowd watch from their caravan of buses. People even buy birds to feed the tigers through a 'vending' slot!

***WARNING - VIDEO IN LINK IS GRAPHIC AND CONTAINS SCENES OF ANIMAL CRUELTY***

Why do we pander to these barbarians.

Now I know tigers are carnivores and kill animals in the wild. However, they do it quickly and instantly, they are also not overweight and it isn't natural behavior to hunt in packs. Neither is it natural for bears to juggle fire, pull cars or for monkeys to ride bikes. ******* scum. rage   banghead

How exactly do we pander to these barbarians??  I'm just curious like.............

I'm all against animal exploitation but it's not just the Chinese. Dolphin/whale/ seal shows are all over the world, as are zoos and circuses. Only yesterday I watched a show with two divers and a variety of sea life, nurse sharks, zebra sharks, a turtle. Yep, not good.

But I give you..........Longleat.

Do elephants, lions, monkeys etc belong in rolling Berkshire??

No, they do not.....

Incidentally, who's been to China?? Not just Beijing, Hong Kong or Xian??

Yes the Chinese eat monkey brains. Not ten minutes from here, I could have you served with a lovely steaming hot dish of pigs brains as well.

In the West you eat McDonalds, KFC, pizza and kebabs. The most popular dish in England is Chicken Tikka Marsala.

So everyone eats shit, right??

Tesco alone kill 2 million chickens a DAY. Go and have a look at how they're raised and then come back to me about Chinese cruelty. I'll be waiting.

Or the elephants in Sri Lanka??

Or the Lippizaner horses in Austria??

Or bullfighting in Spain??

Or the dancing bears in Russia??

Or dog and cock fighting in England??

Pick a country and I'll tell you about it's animal cruelty record.

Not pretty. Anyone who's seen the old 'Faces Of Death' video which was popular in the eighties when VCR was new, will remember what goes on.

They have a table with a small chamber underneath it in to which they insert a small live monkey with it's head protruding above the table surface. They close two sliding panels around the monkeys neck, stove it's head in and spoon the brains out of it's skull whilst still steaming and eat 'em. They're said to be rejuvenating and prevent premature ageing.

It's not widespread like, you can't just go into a restaurant and order monkey brains, you have to go up country around the Himalayan shans in Xizang and into Uygar. It's pretty primitive up there all round to be honest. Bit like Norfolk.

Believe it or not, my ex-missus was sacked from the Chinese Company she worked for, for not eating pidgeons feet at some posh do and it offended the chinese bosses. I've got no problem with people eating what they want, but forcing others to panda (sic) to your weird tastes is well out of order. Needless to say I have never bought any of their products since.

Coo!!! I hope she didn't have any lofty ambitions, If she did they clearly bantam out of shape eh??

My Missus often flops out watching the telly munching on a chicken foot. They sell them all over the city as a takeaway and pre-packed down the supermarket. The Chinese don't waste anything, it was bred into them during the hard years under Mao when there was barely enough for anyone to eat. What's the difference between eating it's wings and eating it's feet??
