I am being a bit cynical here, or does anyone else smell a rat?

Just seen the news, and apparently the most valuable bits weren't on it, being stored elsewhere for restoration.

Apparently it was 6 million short of the restoration target, despite loads of funding already.

It seems what has been lost is replaceable.

No doubt they will get shitloads of funding now, plenty of publicity for it etc. Insurance will be paying a canny whack as well no doubt.

Also, the way health and safety policies are now, it's hard to believe it would be left in a state to spontaneously combust, and the fire would take such a hold so quickly. Police are treating it as suspicious for now.

All the spokespeople on the news today all seemed quite 'prepared', and at times quite jolly.

Hmmmmm...

I'll get back on my grassy knoll.

Heard a news report saying that before the fire it would have lasted approx another five years in it's present state due to corrosion of the metals etc and would have needed a major refit.

I said the same this morning.

Its the same with all of these restorations. When its finished all the staff lose their jobs.

What a way to guarantee yourself 5 more years work.

Play on the public sympathy, and the lottery fund.

I think Snowy did it.

It wouldn't get any more lottery money though, the Heritage Lottery Fund which is the one it gets funded from has been told like all the others that all the money is going to rebuild piss-stinking London, errmmmm...I mean pay for the Olympics.

The Cutty Sark is probably in the way of the new 'velodrome' where grown men in the stupidest hats ever and reflective sunglasses ride their odd looking bicycles really fast......

Sounds like a Jewish stock take to me.......
