Just watched that prog on BBC2 about the Platoon of 'abandoned soldiers' who the government seem to have forgotten. Tragic tales of ex-military who have fallen on hard times and been ignored by people since discharge. As an ex-squaddie myself it hurts to see so many people in such a bad way.
Fantastic uplifting prog about erecting a statue in Trafalgar Square, made better for me as the lead figure was a Howard, same as myself.

I know a lass who worked in mental health in Cambridge, and for some reason (air bases nearby?) there's lots of ex-forces folk round there who have been basically rejected by the army with no support at all for their problems.

Any other organisation would be forced to do something to help I'm sure, but it seems that the forces can get away with what can loosely be termed as murder - a hell of a lot of them attempt suicide, many of them successfully.

It's an absolute disgrace how they are treated but then nothing surprises me with how the country treats true patriots.

They'll be erecting a statue in Trafalgar Square to Nelson Mandela next............................. and electing a 'sweaty' to be PM!
