Murray added: “The first half shocked me. Physically Cambridge were massive, you look through their team and they were all six foot two, six foot three.

“I wanted to get Ryan Brobbel into the game, but he just couldn’t handle the physical side, which I’m fine with. He will come in for other games."

Something tells me he isnt really ok with it and we might have seen the last of some of the less committed lads. Hopefully.

Let's hope so. It's the reason we find ourselves in this mess

Any team who's had us watched would realise we aint' a physical team. This unfortunately has been quite apparent for some years now.
Our disciplinary record is very good to be honest, this however does not win you points though, I'm not saying we should start to kick teams off the park, but we need someone who can come in and hopefully address this aspect of our players game.
Thing is I'm not sure it's something you can teach certain players. They either seem to possess it or they dont.

I'm not sure if Brobbel struggles because it's too physical or because he's a bit shit

just because he could be better than all of us on here doesnt mean he's good enough for pools though does it?

what a strange thing to say.

Very odd thing to say.

Anyone, and by that I mean EVEREYONE, who believes most or even some of this squad are good enough, should be sectioned.

We are bottom of division 4 ladies. It dosesnt get any worse than that.

The league doesnt lie. We have the worst squad in the football league.

He couldnt like.

I may have lost a bit of pace, and agility, but I reckon I could still show some of them a thing or two.

Sounds like people off here fancy a tackle more than brobel.

Seriously tho, the amount of free time footballers get, and the access to facilities, how can they not be physically as strong as there opponents? No excuse really for brobel not to be absolutely ripped.

The thing is he was brought here to make a difference, cos he's meant to be better than division 4. He hasn' t made any difference at all

He has, on occasions he has tormented the left backs, the problem is, the people he is playing with are bilge, therein lies the opportunity for Messrs Murray and Donachie.

I like the way Murray is speaking. At least he is being brutally honest and non of this bullshit manager speak "We deserved to win" blah blah.

He wasn't brought here to make a difference though really was he ? He was brought here because we dont have enough First Team Players to put a team out and we have to rely on kids from other clubs who will come here on a freebie so we can put eleven men out.

I thought Brobel was great for the first 25 minutes last home game, then inexplicably he was asked to switch wings. These kids coming in from other clubs to help out while learning their trade, Harrison, Wyke, Brobel, etc really aren't the problem ( if they were actaully Championship class they would be playing for their parent clubs wouldn't they ? ) or certainly not the main problem.

I'd say skinflint and disinterested owners, experienced first team players who can barely be arsed, and an out of his depth manager, are the main reasons we are in the shit. Really struggling to see why people feel the need to slag off a kid doing his best in a really bad team , especially a load of people who probably weren't even at the fucking game on Saturday.

Like I said theres plenty people you can rightly have a pop at for the current predicament and Brobel is definitely NOT even remotely near the top of that list. Give the lad a break FFS.

Could he tie you in knots though chip?

Well said chip, I know ryan, he is a great kid and a very good footballer with ammence potential, I know this as I have watched him on numerous occasions for boro and york last season where he made a big impact getting numerous man of the match awards and scoring some cracking goals in the process.
He would admit himself he hasnt peformed his best so far for pools but this may be down to the fact hes been playing in a poor team with low morale which may have effected his own confidence, and the added pressure of playing for his home town club.
Like chip said hes learning his trade in this league which I add is very physical and is different in many ways to playing against under 21 teams.
The lad is 21 years old and going through a huge learning curve, given time and patience he will prove his worth and quality, which he has shown glimpses of in previous games.

Critical or not, in my opinion, he has been just as ineffective as all the others. Just saying what I think, based on what I've seen

Let's hope he can finally show us what he is capable of - just like the rest of them

I think brobbel is alright. The thing that let's him down is the lack of end product. He gets into good positions and works hard but usually that's where it goes awry.

Some of his delivery from free kicks and corners has actually been very good, its just that there's nobody really busting a gut to get on the end of them apart from the other two kids we have in on loan. Take the three of them out of the side and we would be close to being relegated already.

It might just be me but I think brobbel actually looks quite good when he picks up the ball and moves forward but then very little comes of it. Def think boro will release him.

Did I just read he is 21?

Sorry like, but by that age he should have been through any learning curve. Though I am not sure what that means.

And he needs a fucking hair cut.

I have seen more of him than you think.

And I have NEVER said he is shit.

His haircut is though. He needs a kicking for that.

But come on, whats this nonsense about a learning curve at 21?

Typical join-the-dots English coaching theory, that should have been consigned to history alongside the dinosaurs. All players are different and develop at different rates. A player's first-team experience is relevant, as is the quality of that experience.

His haircut is indeed unfortunate

This is true, but at his age, he should be ready. Fuck me, he is 22 in march. If he isnt ready for league two NOW, he has no chance higher up.

Infact, he should be in the first team at 22.

His haircut is more than unfortunate.

Brobbel's haircut is fine, all you reactionary and conventional windbags. You should get away from the cult of the ordinary, and move with the times like wot I do.

Mick Spelman had the de facto standard haircut for Pools players in the 70s. Classic styling...

Do I go to games though? Or dont I?

Who knows. Sometimes I go for half a game. Sometimes for 10 minutes.

I sometimes get confused myself.

Flying winger Derek Hampton also had an interesting hairstyle - Colombian player Valderrama later modelled himself on Derek's ground-breaking barnet.
