The scran at the Golden Gate on Church Street is top notch, but the service isn't the quickest. If you're happy to wait, its one of the better Indians in the town and they do deliveries.

Well I definately like a little munch at poppodoms....with some dips, its finger licking good.

Had some last night....seriously had some hot and spicy stuff with a crowd of our lass's friends, my rear has been burning loads from all the spices!

Seaton Tandoori. It's the chef from the Golden Gate when it WAS a good Indian (about 6 years ago).

We used to go in every week without fail Elvis in those days on a Sunday night after the town, it was better than it is now, but after a spell of being crap the food is pretty nice again. The guy who owned back then has an Indian in Durham now.

I concur with Mr Glasses, Seaton Tandoori is quality as is Cafe India usually as well.

Mr Parmo is Popadoms that good then, we have been meaning to go for a while but once we get to the Marina we usually end up at Cafe Del Mar, Thai Harbour or Lotus Garden

Lotus Garden is an overpriced dump, & the "owner" drives me NUTS

Best Indian I've been to in the town is Cafe India - but I've never been to Poppadoms

Poppadoms is quality.

For a takeaway, Sapna used to be excellent but gone down hill since it changed to the Star of India.

Now the new one on York Road, Mumtas or Mamtas, near the Burn Valley, is fantastic. Bit more expensive than usual but it will last you two days!

I like Lionel Ritchie - he is a legend. He is usually decent craic as well although some of the singers that perform in the lotus are rubbish. Maybe Lionel should give the singing a go himself.....

As for Indians - my favourite is Dilshads near the train station. It certainly tastes nice when you're eating anyway but you may have to cope with a firery ring the next day......
