How on earth did his performance today merit 75 minutes on that football pitch, he was horrendous! If you can find a hiding place on a footy pitch in front of 3000 people then he found one! He just didnt want the ball and is the most ineffective "striker" ive seen pull on a pools shirt in a very long time, Marlon aint great but did more in the 15 minute spell than Franks did in 75. 5 goals in 10 games is a truly awful return and you know what happens to teams who dont put the ball in the net! Our lack of striking power is embarrassing yet we end up with another bloody defender!

I thought he was Pool today too, to me Franks has flattered to decieve if i was Harewood I'd be fuming that he wasn't taken off earlier- we are fooked if we don't get two in to give us options.

We are beyond desperate for two strikers. I was amazed Franks didn't get released in the summer.

Totally agree hes quick, keeps himself fit and is a model pro by all accounts. ....apart from when he steps out onto the pitch!
In affective on the wing and worse up front definitely would have been released if he'd been on a good wage, a squad player best!

on the flip side, how good is Charlie Wyke! We really need someone decent alongside him though

Between him and Walker I reckon they have a bet on who can touch the ball the least amount of times. Both shy of getting the ball, Walker just points at Miller so they pass to him, and Franks just runs between centre back and full back pointing in to the corner.

It's so fucking easy. the amount of times Duckworth got the ball, looked inside for Walker (nowhere to be seen) - looks for Franks to come and get the ball at his feet (nowhere to be seen) so he has to go back to Bates/Miller or launch it for Franks.

Truly embarrasing, and if this is down to Cooper asking them to do this, then his tactics are even worse than they appear.

They both need benching ASAP, although I don't think it will achieve anything in the long run. A clueless manager trying to tell clueless players what they need to do is always going to lead to disaster.

Roll on our two new strikers anyway..

I think Brad Walker would benefit from a few games on the bench, give Woods a chance.

Id like to see Hawkins given a go or sent out on loan. Must be frustrating as hell sat on the bench knowing fine well Cooper wont bring you on despite some of Walkers performances. Mind i did think on Saturday he improved a bit.

Concur with all

I know he's still slight and needs to beef up but what about trying the young Connor Smith, he seemed to know where the net was pre-season and for Reserves. Why cant he give the kid a chance he'll soon find out if he's cut-out for the game

Got nowt to loose as far has I can see :ugeek:

Walker & Franks were both woeful, they both need a spell on the bench. I think Miller deserved his MoM award on Saturday, he always give a good shift and not afraid to put a foot in, Walker prances about on his tiptoes terrified in case the ball comes near him, ok, he can score the odd spectacular but I think it's hard graft we need in midfield at the minute. Wyke had a good game (wins more headers than Franks/Harewood put together) but whenever he got it there was nobody available. Would like to see Woods given a crack instead of Walker and I'm not wholly sure about up front - maybe one of the sensational new trialists alongside Wyke

Franks had a very poor game - summed up just before he was hooked when he got the ball in a good position on the edge of their box, had no clue what to do with it and lost possession.

Agree with Mr. Tree that Brad Walker looked a bit better - though still way below his best last season. He covers a lot of ground, fitness isn't the issue, but he can't seem to impose himself on the game. If his confidence has taken a knock the barracking he's starting to get from the Millhouse won't help. Hopefully he'll hit a screamer into the top corner soon and get his mojo back.

One thing - for a big lad he doesn't win enough headers and doesn't seem to time his jumps properly. Surely this is something Cooper can work on with him?
