Right....Protest This Saturday....Protest No.1!!!!

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Bob man, don't be disheartened. I understand your frustration and agree that it would he great if we could do something highly organised which would mobilise a significant number of Poolies. BUT the actions of a few Poolies doing the walk out will trigger bigger things. Look at what that black woman on the bus in America in the 1960s did.

What a lot of people seem to forget is that there are a lot of Pools fans who don't do Facebook, Twitter, forums etc. But they are as pissed off as the rest of us. They turn up and see things getting shitter, and all it needs is something for them to follow.

Word will soon spread on Saturday before the game. At the nineteen minute mark when the few start to walk out, lots will follow. It will snowball. Once everyone realises something is happening they will want to get involved.

Keep the faith and never say die.

I am still confused as to why 500 people walking behind each of the three stands at 20 minutes is a health and safety death trap.

I know there are some Health and Safety mad people around these days but come on.

If certain people could have had their way, that day at Rochdale a few season back would not have happened. You couldnt move behind that stand before kick off.

Utterly bonkers

It's stands to reason that the capacity from each stand can also fit behind or around it. The Town End has shit loads of room to either side of it.

Like I said on the Facetube I'd imagine three times that number manage to go for a piss/pie/pint at half time every match then return to the stand without a stampede and mass fatalities. It will be at best a few hundred in each stand it's hardly fucking Mecca is it? This health and safety angle is bonkers you couldn't even make it up.

I just don't get some people; there's no need to overcomplicate or overthink this. You're protesting, not writing a manifesto to change the world.

Protest movements, of whatever ilk, always start small, are always disorganised, and shouldn't be committeed (a nice neologism there!) out of existence. Once you start to over worry about organisation, it'll be death by committee. Just protest, do the best you can, and then take stock afterwards. Hell, do the same again for a few weeks hoping that others will join. Just don't find a reason to do nowt. Don't wait until you all agree, and don't debate the life out of it. You'll never agree, and the moment will pass. The Life of Brian references are apt; remember the final sequences of the filum? It's funny, because it's so true.

3,000+ people?

we are near the bottom of the table and surely wont attract a bigger following the way we are currently playing. I don't think there will be a big following but as people are saying, you have to start somewhere and I agree THAT somewhere is 19:08 this saturday at the vic!

That's just his nature, he demands organisation, on this occasion it isnt needed, i think it's a great start, it might grow into something more organised as more people get involved.

I get the impression bob wouldnt want to get involved as it would effect his relationship with the club if he was seen to be a ring leader or involved.

Now regardless of your opinions of said sport, I would think that that bloke on ITB would ban everyone from watching it as there is a threat of someone being hit by a ball................and god help anyone in a wheel chair, in the stampede to avoid the approaching missile.

Can I suggest the following?:

1. An organisation committee is formed.

a. Nominations should be sought from:

Facebook
All message boards
All pubs
Clubs
Supermarkets
A representative from the club to ensure impartiality.
All of the local media.

b. There should be a vote. One person one vote.

Ballot papers should be sent to all households in the town, And various villages around the town.

c. The committee should then be formed.

A vote of all committee members to decide on Chairman, vice chairman, and all sub-committees.
The committee will then agree terms of reference, and any KPI's that need to be achieved.

2. The Committee will then decide on the type of action/protest to be undertaken.

3. Committee will seek permission from club and HSE before action is authorised.

4. Committee will be allowed regular belly tickling sessions with the club.

5. Committee murdered.

But too late. Then its decided that tennis balls was the best idea all along, and the protest takes place in April. 6 weeks after relegation is confirmed.

Facebook moans that no one did owt earlier.

Its a plan.

Golf is inherintenly more dangerous than lobbing tennis balls as it entails whacking a tiny ball vast distances at tremendous speeds... The spectators must fear for their lives....

I think we need to organize a meeting to discuss when we are planning a meeting to plan the meeting which is planning the protest.

Has anyone tweeted Stelling about the planned protest?

I don't expect him to mention it or comment on it but if someone's tweets him then doesn't everyone who follows him see that message? Not too sure how twitter works so I may be wrong?

We may need someone with whistle to signal when the match gets to 19.08! This is actually probably a good idea anyway as it will make it a bit more obvious even if only a handful vacate the stands

Hi guys

Tell me to F off if you like, but do you Pools fans have an organised unofficial fans group with a committee etc
When Posh were going through similar problems we formed one that still going to this day and it really did help it got supporters organised and made the club sit up and listen it's gone from strength to strength, without it we would not have got our Chairman who's a football fan as well as the owner its took us from a lower half L4 club to a top L3 with three promotions to L2

We are not a big club but since DMac came in we've had a great roller coaster ride

Good luck

Oh and an update on Luke James some impatient supporters are getting on his back but he's had very little game time but what I've seen I like makes good runs gets in the right positions just needs a run in the side and a goal to settle him which he should get now our top strikers out for a couple of months or so with a broken foot

Good luck with your protest hope it works for you
