It looked like Fleetwood fetched about 150 fans for a play off semi.

No doubt eventually they'll go the way of Rushden in time.

I know what you are saying but I don't like comments like that
It's a bit like the bigger clubs we played in league one claiming we we're 'little Hartlepool' and didn't deserve to be where we were

I am sure those 150 (at a hastily rearranged game) had a great time and good luck to them, if their owner is prepared to put a bit of cash in

I don't begrudge Fleetwood fans as they are a proper club, not like R&D or MK

It is being sustained artificially in terms of league status etc, but for most of their fans it would be very easy to support Blackpool instead, especially when they were in the premier league just 3 years ago,and still play at championship level

fair play to the ones who turn up

It's nothing like that and not what I meant all it's just with that small a hardcore fanbase a League club isn't sustainable. So it's not inconceivable that after a while they go the way of Rushden, I'm not wishing it upon them or have anything against them it was just my immediate thought.

I see PJs' point, I was surprised when I saw the figure originally....but I wish them well and on reflection the points made about the club were valid.

but think about the situation. They were meant to play the game on Saturday which was called off. Most of them will have paid for travel, hotel, booze on saturday only for the kick off to be delayed and then postponed. they then play on the monday night and will have probably been at work. Its no different should we have been playing Fleetwood, and paid for hotels on the saturday night in blackpool/manchester, trains, petrol or coach fares.

Pools would take a 150 away on a Monday night for a playoff match if it was at 4 hours notice.

Its not about how many fans you get on your average gate they clearly have very few die hard fans if only 150 are turning up for a playoff match poorly supported club backed by a rich owner exactly the same as Rushden for me.

Just to clarify no one paid for travel, it was all laid on by the club and there were less than 200 there in the postponed game.

Tinpot.

And Sheff Wed would take 5 or 6 thousand, it doesn't make them a better club than us, or deserve to be any higher than us in the pyramid(or Fleetwood)

well i take that back. 200 for the saturday game is a fairly poor effort especially as travel was provided.

Who has suggested that?

I hope Fleetwood clatter York 4-0 in the return leg. I saw York twice last season and thought they were utter pish (even garpish) both times.

The thought of them getting promoted when Pools nearly managed to go out of the Leagues altogether is a real teeth grinder. Thought they might owe their 'success' to a settled squad, but they had 10 players in on loan over the course of the season!

Do you think he could get the shops shut on a Friday as well while he's at it?

Maybe the play offs are losing their appeal?

Struggling to understand the bitching session about them, yes they are a smaller than average league 2 club who are well backed, but I don't see too much wrong with that
Providing their chairman doesn't act the 'lovely lovely person' and fuck off owing millions then good luck to them

It's not a bitching session, nobody is wishing them bad luck but taking that number of fans to arguably the biggest game in your clubs history until the second leg is pitiful and an indicator of the way they will go without the bankrolling. Nobody has said that is wrong but the following was small for such a big game. I'd imagine those are the 150 or so that were watching them 10 years ago, when that was a good crowd.

I think most of the football world would despair of Pools got into the championship with our pitifully small ground, and crowds.

Not my opinion.

Just making a well known point.

I think some of you have forgotten just how unimportant we are in the football world.
