Lol I saw that, it's actually a tough one, I think it's a mistake not to take cole, but it's the one position where we do have options
I would have taken Cole and Shaw,
Cole as he is the best defender, and let's face it we will be doing a lot of that, and Shaw as he is the future

Baines is 29, so he is hardly going to be around for the next World Cup
Either way I hope he does well

A good start from Woy.

Now lets hope other younguns will be in the squad.

Lets get Barclay, Lallana, Wiltshire, Oxlaide chamberlain, Sterling in there as well.

We might not win the thing, but at least we can cheer the younguns with renewed optimism.

They won it on Saturday, and it was a bearded lady.

I'm not sure if the beard is relevant but I hope they have an open top bus ready for when England get back from Brazil.

Basically if england get the the QF it will be a good world cup so get the youth in and have a go.

My starting XI would be

Hart
Johnson cahill jagielka Baines

Gerrard
oxlade-chamberlain wilshire Lallana

Rooney

Sturridge

With Barkley in the wings to bring on if things not going right, same with Lambert.

I wouldnt have Wellbeck anywhere near the team but he seems to pop up with goals but dont think he will in later stages. For the record I recon that Milner will start on the right against Italy as Roy seems to like him even though he is Englands answer to Sweeney.

I never get this reasoning so your saying you would want say Chile or USA to win the world cup rather than England if they have an exciting team? Ask the people of Denmark or Greece if they would rather the "exciting" teams in the Euro's had won over them. In football you play to your strengths and have a go so to speak. If Greece had try to play football against anyone and in particular Portugal in that Euro they would have got wolloped.

Records dont show which team was nice or the best team in competition the records show winners.

True.

You'd associate Holland with playing the game the correct way but in order to try and win the last World Cup the they tried to kick Spain off the pitch. It didn't work but if it had I doubt anyone in the Netherlands would have been bothered how victory was achieved.

I don't really gamble, so when their is a gambling thread on here, I stay clear of it, as it's not my thing, I don't go on it and tell people how much I dislike gambling, as it would ruin the flow of the thread, I don't understand why you have to tell people how much you don't care about England, if you don't care, why not let people who do just crack on with it?

Your opinion is of course your own and your allowed to post what you like, I just don't understand the logic behind your I don't care about England on a pro England thread.

When people say play the youth I think they mean lallana, sturridge, barkley, oxlade, Wilshire etc

I hope anyway, as barkley aside I don't think have many youths or teenagers that could win us a game at the moment.

The squad is better than I expected.

Dont know why Lampard and Milner are there, but you cant like everything.

The centre of defence worries me though. We are poor there. Very poor.

Still, overall, looking forward to it now.

He does a job................agreed.

But thats at club level.

There are better players than him in every position.

He is there cos he can be average in a number of positions.

Still, he is there, so not point slagging him off now.

He may score the winner in final..................which like I have said all along, we will win.
