With clubs reducing their budgets so far this week the following are available:

Defenders

Matthew Bates released by Bradford
Christian Ribeiro from Scunny
Jonathan Grounds Oldham

Midfielders

Liam Noble Carlisle

Forwards

Craig Westcarr released by Walsall and scored 17 up front
Lee Miller Carlisle maybe an attitude issues but .........
Billy Clarke Crawley who once tortured us from Colchester in 2006 when we went down from division 1

and maybe the best of the lot are on our doorstep at Guisborough in terms of former Poolie Danny Johnson 59 goals who was talked about today down south here alongside Mikey Roberts from the same club with 33 goals from a Crystal Palace sauce .................

Hopefully CC can pick 2 or 3 good signings out of that lot and persuade them to sign for the dockers!

I'd imagine that Bates, subject to wages, would be high up on Coopers list.

Lee Miller & Billy Clarke would be nice, but i doubt we could afford them

he has 31 goals in 83 game at League 1. I'd snap him up without a 2nd thought.

How old is billy Clarke now? Never really lived up to expectations anywhere has he?

Would sign Lee Miller no problem. Not seen him so much at Carlisle but always liked what I saw of him in the SPL.

Bates was the player that caught my attention.

I just don`t get why people want Carlisles cast offs, they are in league 2 and deemed not good enough to play in this league, so please explain why we want them, I am at a loss with some people, we need to move up a league, not down 1 rakxe

And Liam Noble wasn`t very good if you remember, how many goals did he score again sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

All of our players are pretty much cast offs.

Compton - Bradford cast off

Walker - boro cast off

We've signed players from the league above below and the same level in the past.

Monkhouse was a Swindon cast off.

Get over it

Most footballers are somebody else's cast offs. How many big players have been a cast off some time in their career. Would gladly take a couple of carlisles cast offs.

Is it the Guisborough lads we should be chasing .............. yes they may end up as Michael McKay, but at least he ran his heart out unlike other former Northern League grandees returning to Pools. After all those of us with long memories knew Billy Horner could spot the odd bit of Northern League talent - Dobson, yes Howard, Hampton, admittedly there were the Phil Linacres and John Gollogy's of this world in there too! I say given the two Guisborough lads a one year deal see what they can do with some decent coaching surely Harewood can help in that department!

players who have the right mentality and determination and something to prove - I'll gladly see us sign half a dozen of them!! Duckworth is a great example!!!

I think you have the wrong Noble. Liam Noble is a midfielder

Isn`t he the former Mackem, went to Burnley, got released and went to Carlisle?

I'm sure CC already has targets in mind, and if he thinks the lads from Guisborough are worth a look, he'll get them in on trial during pre season, that won't stop the drama queens on here though.

one thing is certain and that Cooper has an eye fora decent player. There are many reasons for why the team was up and down last season gone, but I do believe Cooper is thorough in what he does and where he looks

Would take any of those too be honest. All seem fairly feasible too. Bates and Grounds both ex boro ain't they? A move back north and Coops might already know a bit about them.
