Pools drew 2-2 at home to cambridge united, crowd of 2,183.

Boro beat bury in div 3 in front of a crowd of 6,499

Newcastle were beaten by sheff wed in Div 1, a certain Joe Allon got one of the goals in a 3-2 defeat.

Sunderland were beaten 6-1 by Blackburn

Wimbledon were top of division one after a win at watford.

Centre pages is a double spread on the Pools Cardiff trouble a couple of weeks before. Mad day, that, Cardiff, boro and portvale all in town on same day.
