Some I suspect are foregone conclusions because they've hardly ever played this year but who are the others? I suspect the following have played their last game at Pools.

Williams D
Bullock
Clarke D
Robson
Hignett
Proctor
Gibb (subject to length of contract)
Tinkler

One or two others are borderline.

If Dimi stays then I think Jimbo has to move on for the good of his own career. He was a good goalie other than failing to command his box I reckon now he's a bit older than might have changed.

Off to a L2 club I would suspect, maybe even them down the road.

Before anyone suggests releasing him, I'd definitely keep Eifion. But I would not ever ever play him as the main striker, he's simply not made that way and it worried me pre match yeaterday that it was likely that Eifion and Porter would play together up front. They are both players who excel when paired up with a main striker. Just look at the Williams/Barker partnership or Boydy/Porter. Neither were the main centre forward.

I had hoped that we'd see maybe MacKay or Rae up front with Porter yesterday with Williams taking over Monkhouses role.

Anyway, whats done is done and we are up!

he did look good mackey and if it was a close run thing betwen him and rae for the bench then promise in reserve but we still need another forward - as much as i want porter to stay i think he wont be around - same goes for effion - they'll keep one not the other i guess
maidens, the turnbulls could well be gone as we have some new promise coming through in the shape of young gott tymon etc...
pity as i thought maidens and turnbull didnt do a bad job last year....
need to bring more out of jones soon for we are shockingly lacking in cover at centre half which has probably contrubuted to the dip in form at the end of season.
proctor, dazclarke, daz williams , barron, tinks, le bollock, gibb, matty, brackstone will all be away
hignett had already left 2 weeks ago i heard

anyway the bus has just went past the end of our street 5 minutes early and about 15 mph too fast

still we are up and we need to look forward now....

Eifion Williams has been a good player for HUFC for a long time but if we want Pools to be in the top 12 and possibly challenging for play offs next season he is not good enough. He's hardly scored in Division Four and we have been the second best team, he's had some very good games but he isn't consistant enough.....

Effion is more effective running onto balls straight down the middle
he has not had a lot of service in that department
ran himself ragged every game for 60 minutes no matter where they played him
keep him but give him the service the goals will come

I can actually see E Williams being released. There will be better out and out strikers available.

Darren Williams has to go this time!

Matty Robson probably will go.

Ali Gibb Should.

How can anyone suggest getting rid of Effion?

Hero, legend.

sometimes in life decisions are made that not everyone agrees with but weve got to live with them. if it moves the club forwards i will be happy to support the managers decision.. this does not mean i want eiffo to go

If we want to be in the top half of league one then Eifion Williams isn't good enough. He has too many annonymous games and does not offer enough the majority of the time. He has been a good player in the past and he'll make a good signing for some division four team......
poor effy hit his purple patch 6 weeks too soon.

wilson has to decide wether to keep the loyal servants or wield the axe.

like jonny says, if he wants to challenge for promotion in what will be a very tough league compared to the bobbins outfits we have been playing this season, he has going to have to be nasty.

you could even make a case for offloading the likes of ritchie barker and joel porter.
Eifion is a good pro and done the club proud but like a lot of others will struggle to step up into this league.

I think Joel and Barker would be a fantastic partnership, Joel is an 'assistant striker' rather than an out and out centre forward. A sort of a Beardsley rather than a Lineker if you will. He's great at picking up the loose balls and running onto things. Play him as a lone striker and you'll hardly ever score but play him in his natural role and you'll get the best out of him.

Hull's Duffy keen on Swansea move
Darryl Duffy
Duffy is unsure if he has a future at Hull City
Darryl Duffy says he wants to join Swansea City on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old striker scored five goals in five starts in a short loan period with the Swans from Hull City.

"I'm unsure about my future, it's down to the Hull manager. I'm meeting him on Tuesday to see what he's got to say," Duffy told BBC Wales Sport.

"But Swansea is definitely an option for me, I've absolutely loved my time here. They play good football, the type of game that I like."

Duffy said he hopes to talk to Swansea manager Roberto Martinez about the possibility of a transfer in the next few days.

Hull are thought to want to recoup the £250,000 they paid Falkirk for Duffy in any deal for the Scotland Under-21 striker.

At least three other clubs are interested in Duffy, including League Two promotion winners Hartlepool, where he scored five goals in 10 games on loan earlier this season.

need to spend to get him and i think (know) swansea will throw bigger wages around than us

What we need in some of the areas is cover - we've got away with a few things this season but need to have good replacements to step in when needed. Centre Half - Nelson and Clark are first choice, but if one is missing we have had to pull Liddle back from his most effective role. We've looked a little short on other options - Tinkler for me is a liability in defence unless it's as the sweeper in a back three, Jones is relatively untried. Left back - without Humphreys ability to remain fit we'd have struggled, as there simply isn't an adequate replacement. We're OK in central midfield, but out wide we need more options - what will we do without Monky at the start of next season for example, while on the other side I'm not a fan of Gibb. Brown meanwhile is a great threat with his close control but needs to improve his crossing if he's to be a regular winger. (Not having a go, just not convinced he's in his best position there). Forwards - it's more a case of how many Wilson thinks he needs, but there needs to be a bit of thinning out - Proctor must surely leave, but then you've already got Barker, Porter, Eifion, Brown, Foley, Mackay and Rae itching for a chance.... If we lose two of the first three named then there's a gap for one IMO.

The problem of course is finding good quality players who will come to Pools and if necessary wait for their chance in the reserves or on the bench.
