The Poppy Shirt is one of the most sort after pieces of Hartlepool Utd Memorabilia.

Other fans will be interested in this thread because the Poppy shirts where such a cult item and got so much local and national media coverage. After making my donation of £310 to the Poppy Appeal, I would now like another fan to enjoy this special item, hence why I'm letting it go for a fraction of the price on Ebay.

I hand wrote this message. It is most certainly not spam. Please delete a lot of the other trivial/ unimportant threads on here then please, because the Poppy Shirts are just about as relevant topic on here your likely to read. Rant over!!

Bearing in mind there was only 16 shirts ever produced and over 300 people bidded and missed out on one of the shirts I'd say this thread is definitely of interest to at least a handful of fans who wanted one of these shirts so badly but are probably unaware they have a second chance. Its not like I'm trying to make a lot of money, I made my donation and now I own something that is highly sort after.

Yes the original purchase raised money for the poppy appeal, fair play for that, but now your trying to make money off a shirt that was only ever released to make money for a charity. So your kind of a ding n morally your bordering on being a Doyle.

I don't see why you are selling it, like you're trying to recoup some of the money back you paid for it. I assume you paid for the item and fair play to you for donating a few hundred quid for charity but if I was in your shoes i'd leave it as that.. Simple.

If you dont wanna wear it, frame it, if you wanna make money of it, your a bit of a twat.

If someone desperately wants it they'll find it on eBay.

If you want to give it maximum publicity do something really altruistic and re-sell it for the poppy appeal. I'm sure the club/mail will then promote it for you.

But to be honest I think you're slightly over-estimating the appeal of the shirt and the number of people who want to buy it.

What is bad form, regardless of the item for sale or nature of the message board, is to sign up and start multiple threads advertising something while contributing the sum total of nothing to the rest of the board. If you can't see where the problem lies then I give up.

Let me tell you how it is. This site was created, run and funded by the users who can within reason, post what they like however trivial or irrelevant it might appear to you. They contribute to the site with posts, discussions and even occasionally pounds shillings and pence. We're not against people flogging gear but typically they are regular users who are members of this community.

You on the other hand have turned up and your only contribution is to make money from a poppy shirt. A quick look on ebay shows that Hartlepool United is not the only club's shirts that you have been selling. Again that is not an issue but we're not here as service to anyone who wants to turn up, make a profit and clear off.
