Another season of TOTP repeats disrupted. TOTP 1979 has just started on BBC 4, but the next two episodes (Saville and DLT) won't be shown, thus depriving the viewing public of Squeeze doing "Goodbye Girl" (only time they ever performed it on UK TV as it flopped.

I was pleased to read that Dave Bartram from Showaddywaddy is one of the prosecution witnesses and that, according to the prosecution, one of DLT's alleged assaults was halted when "one of the Chuckle Brothers walked past." Good to see that Martin Scott did something positive for somebody even if it was a long time ago and non-football related.

It's always going to be difficult to get a conviction without any physical evidence.

Or the fact that two of the women change their story on about how old she was and the other had no recollection of it as well as one not having enough evidence. I think its stinks tbh.

They still haven't decided what to do with Freddie Starr yet.

I think Rolf could be struggling, possibly the historical stuff won't stick like with DLT and The Cockroach but they also found kiddy porn on his computer. I wouldn't like to guess what it is yet to be honest.

Might be a retrial on two of the charges against DLT.

That used to go on regularly at my workplace in the 1980s but because no one worked there was famous, no one appears to have ran to the police.

When it happened I didn't see any women distressed over it. In fact some used to enjoy the attention.

The problem is proving an offence after so much time. Hall did everyone a favour by confessing. Freddie Starr has been arrested and re-arrested a few times over a period of about 15 months. Either charge him or let him go but it seems pointless just to haul him in every couple of months.

There's a hell of a lot of difference between a pat on the arse and rape. I didn't say what went on in those days was right, it was just a different era. You saw similar stuff on the tv (On the Buses for example). It went on but I've seen many of those girls (as they were then) over the years and none of them seem to have had their lives destroyed over it.

Why is he called the hairy cornflake?

no he's called Fetish Bob

It was either because he did the breakfast show and was very hairy or because he used to give young lasses he worked with bowls of cornflakes with some of his pubic hair mixed in. This was normal in the 70s and just a bit of fun.

Can't remember which reason is right though. Probably because I had my own reasons for always calling him the irritating, smug, music-hating shithead.
