that one should have been postponed on account of not being able to see fuck all!!! 40 watt bulb floodlights that night, there was actually dark shadow areas on the pitch down the touchlines

Isn't it one of those 'community' stadiums where everyone and their dog has time slot....

Sunday........ International Lesbian freestyle ploughing and tractor racing.

Monday........Welsh Bullfighting.

Tuesday......Sumo rugby.

Wednesday..Elephant line dancing.

Thursday......Foxhunting.

Friday............St Blodwins' Somme battlefield re-enactment Society.

Saturday........Newport County v any team....match postponed!

Their fixture list currently has them with a run of 5 home games scheduled from next Tuesday and with the weather forecast could be looking at adding to their fixture backlog which has 6 times at home and 3 away in March. If it runs on for much longer IMO the league need to step in as it gives them a lovely home advantage and when Gateshead faced this problem last year they were forced to move games.

Would playing possibly Saturday Tuesday Thursday Saturday be an advantage if they lost more games through the weather.

There is also only about 6 weeks left in the "emergency window". Injuries and suspensions may cost them more than playing home games benefits them.

Given that the stadium is actually Newport Gwent Dragon's and they play in worse conditions than football requires (they played a match last weekend I think), then the pitch will be in very poor condition when/if it dries out a bit. Mind you there aren't many grounds in the locality that they could transfer to as most are having games postponed. The only one seemingly not affected is Cardiff's new stadium and I doubt they would be welcome there.

they moved from the Athletics stadium (Spitty Park) last season, I wonder if they would be allowed to stage games there in emergency, same as Gateshead had to last season, just to get their fixtures played

The only doubt is whether that place would meet FL criteria

I think their only real option is playing there, cos I can't see them being allowed to play at Bristol or Hereford for police reasons!!!!
