Clean sheet in each game since Baldwin left?

I'm not for a second claiming Collins to be better than Baldwin or anything but maybe that extra power and heading ability and experience is more suited to this level of football.

Takes us into the top half as well- will make a few of the gamblers on the board even happier.

Surely that's calmed any thoughts of a late struggle,we have finally got the result our football has deserved recently

Really looking forward to next week's game now, we had a win/loss deficit of 3 games, now that's back to 2 the pressure is relieved immediately

A run of games against teams struggling near the bottom, we can push on here and pickup more wins

The winning mentality building up towards the end of the season will hopefully carry us into the next one thinking about a promotion push!!

but to win them.... will have been against other teams in the mire, who then stay many points behind anyway

I'm more than happy for other teams fixtures to keep getting postponed while we put points on the board.

Sat on the underground on way back to kc must say the fans in the section behind goal sang all way through others in the family stand like a morgue to the chants of "shall we sing a song for you" where quite amusing. The game well had 0-0 over it to be honest but a cracker from Williams and a tap in from monky I will take everyday. Cracking away day

Great win. The chance to get to the play offs is still there. The chance will grow if we can keep Williams for the rest of the season plus a bit of luck with injuries and suspensions.
Hopefully Williams will insist on continuing his loan with us cos he seems to be enjoying the limelight at Pools.

Agreed, but we have zero cover at centre half and not a single defender on the bench today. That slightly worries me. I would like to keep Williams but also get a replacement in for Baldwin because any knocks or 3 games in a week and we could be fucked

Always got to be optimistic regarding the playoffs and there is still 16 games to play. We need a good run and the table could change. Beating Newport who are the team were chasing will be a very good start

Yep.........defensive cover is a priority. I'm sure it will be high on Cooper's agenda.

Defensive cover will come in, Cooper said as much last week that he has room within the budget now after we scattered that useless Baldwin bloke and we've not conceded since.

Keeping Williams until May would be bonk on material.

Am I imagining it or weren't sheff utd in for him too? Would be interesting to know if it was Williams choice to come here or Boros.

yes that win was another tipping point victory

Defeat today would have left us feeling very uncomfortable, with a win/loss deficit of 4... when that number gets to 5 or 6 the table makes grim reading

We've basically put that possibility to bed for now, and hopefully for the rest of the season.

It would be nice to flip that mindset and get the wins in surplus, which I think we will by playing the Cooper way

Played in the centre of defence for Bradford today in a 3-3 draw, and Dolan was in midfield for them.

Great win at Dagenham who, for me, were one of the best teams to play at Pools this season.
What is encouraging is that with Baldwin gone, Austin and Duckworth out injured, only Christian Burgess remained of the regular back four. Well done the young lads - Holden, Richards.... and Sam.

Sam is proving quite a few people wrong and I think will continue to do so this season.

For the second half of last season he showed some of his best form he has in his time at the club so it's no real surprise he's capable of getting through games at this level without much bother.

I agree. He the sort of defender you need in league 2.

Great result hopefully we can keep the loan players, still a big gap to the playoffs but there is always one team who goes on a late run, and if we did do it the teams we would be playing would shit themselves !
A last 14 games of the season like 1990-91 would be superb !

Added bonus is we are now 9 points in front of Torquay, though that will be reduced to 3 if they win their games in hand ;)

But that would mean they have beaten other strugglers cos that's who their games in hand are against, so we'd still be nowhere near the bottom 2

I am joking, as chip (quite rightly) was giving me some stick for mentioning the gap to the bottom last week, as you say they can't all win
