She has changed her story a number of times including accusing her ex boss of commiting the murder.
Three if them were accused of colluding to commit the crime, the black bloke is still in jail based on that evidence, but the good looking American white bird isn't!

Having watched a bit of that video Aido is bang on.

Who cares about the politics and all that other stuff, I struggle with the idea someone can be found guilty, have their conviction quashed and then can be found guilty again. It all smells funnier than some old haddock and as sad as someone dying is surely you can't just keep going.

Aye, the media has sensationalized no doubt, but some of the facts when you look at it are pretty damning , DNA evidence, the fact the knife they believe was used was bleached clean ( I always bleach my cutlery like ) the other bloke accused of doing it with them is still in jail , the fact she lied and accused her boss of doing it landing him in jail for a few weeks.

Obviously short of being on the jury you don't here everything and I have certainly read sensational shite that swung it both ways but she has now been found guilty and if ratified should go to jail

I don't know what happened obviously but chips statement of 'facts' is actually a good insight into how it boils down in people's minds

Ie are the police corrupt and set her up and all the confessions/ false implication of other people and DNA evidence a result of that or planted

Seems like the Italians went to a lot of fuss just because she 'disrespected' them, similarly the victims parents ( who have followed all this a lot closer than me) seem to think she was involved, a d while not the most dispassionate of observers they do already have one person convicted so its not as though they would be left with no one having done it
At the end of the day the interesting thing now is what the yanks do, if they refuse to release her despite a treaty that sets a dangerous precedent , I expect she will be fucking off to Brazil sharpish

I am privy to some of the evidence.. On the balance of probability I'd say it was an open and shut case .. Although the club official of been fitted up

All of this took place within hours of her being questioned (not after 4 days without sleep)
So within hours they were turning on each other and lying

Based on what I have heard I am inclined to believe what the courts decide, while definitely not an open and shut case it also doesn't feel like some massive conspiracy either

While its only one source and prone to bias as well, if you Wikipedia Amanda Knox confession it lays out the timeline and shows her changing he story and blaming innocent people all in a couple of hours....the fact you think it was 4 days shows how much the case has been manipulated in the news

Sounds like now we agree she wasn't questioned for 4 solid days without being allowed to leave or sleep.
Also as you point out above she was originally being questioned as a witness, ie voluntarily, 4 hours before her signed statement lying about her bosses involvement she was eating dinner with friends and speaking to them on her mobile, hardly 4 days of constant unbroken interrogation
It does sound like procedure wise there was a fuck up, but the way her and her natively Italian speaking boyfriend changed their stories multiple times is somewhat suspicious

As I said earlier in the thread, peoples perspective on this case is driven very much by whether they think the police are corrupt or not, as I have said multiple times I don't know what the final answer is, things aren't that black and white for me.

Obviously I have cut your post to the pertinent piece, but one of the 'facts' you claim is 4 days of questioning denied access to solicitors and sleep.

As you later state she wasn't denied access to a solicitor, she just wasn't a 'suspect' at the time (a fuck up by the police)
As she was free to go and indeed did go back and forth when not being questioned she could have got a solicitor and 'sleep' had she so chosen, as I later said by her own testimony she was voluntarily at the police station the night the police got her first confession (be that fake or otherwise) and your point is valid we only have the police and their translators word for it that she originally did finger her boss that evening.

The impression you give is her locked up in interrogation for 4 days with no access to a solicitor or being allowed to sleep, that is clearly false.

I don't know, that's what I am saying, it could well be the police fitting her up, but its not black and white.

What isn't in dispute is the night she fingered her boss, she was at the station voluntarily (her own words in court) and the interview did not begin until 11.30, so hardly an early start.

I am not saying she is definitely guilty, I am just saying to give her a pass with a blanket 'the coppers fit her up' doesn't seem like the full answer either.

When i went over there in 97 for a world cup qualifier we got attacked of the riot cops while we were stood having a pint with a undercover copper even he was disgusted in them.

Later on i was banged up for a little incident which was all a mistake and was booted around a bit and taken to a cop station and cuffed to a chair, they wouldnt give me a drink let me piss and when i tried to sleep was slapped with the officers gloves.

When i was told i wouldnt be going to the match the next day i wasnt bothered what they done to me and after a few hours they gave me a statement to sign in Italian and i refused, this went on for a couple of hours shoving it in my face to sign and me refusing.

A young cop who had been right as rain with me begged me to sign it and told me i could leave so i took the chance and they kicked me out and i got to the match but they are sly fookers
