My nephew and former brother-in-law are both called John Hay, unfortunately neither one have won this 7.5 million.

I often wonder what it would be like if a close-ish Relation won a fortune. I'd like to think I would "look after" Family Members, I mean, out of 7.5 million paying say ten peoples Mortgages off (average £100k) would be nowt!

The problem would be if you suddenly had 100 'close' family members calling up to see how you are!

I wouldn't go public, that fella who won £100m+ who owned that music shop had to close that shop as he had strangers coming into his shop everyday asking for coin.

I'd look after all the people close to me, give a fair bit away to charity and keep a couple of million to keep the family's future secure. Probably wouldn't even move house, might buy a holiday home somewhere and maybe get a new car.

Saying that, I've never had £7m to play with so can't promise I wouldn't go off the rails and end up dead by 35.

they'll be getting some "knocks" on the door from unsavoury types as well, offering to "look after" their kids on the way to school and stuff

It would be a house in Florida and one in the Lake District for me, six months of the year at each and fly back for a few visits to the Vic (from Florida that is, don't think Ambleside has an airport yet). No kids to spend anything on, bloody great. Only problem being that I don't do the lottery so it's highly unlikely I will ever win it.

They lived in the street behind me in Thornaby. He was a good lad john, used to play footy on the street corner together. Shame we lost touch actually, maybe I should drop him a line....
