Is it 1 win in about 13 games now?

And that's with quite a lot of players who are claimed to be either million pound players, championship/league 1 players or the best in the league.

Agree with much of that Chip. We're desperate for some midfield creativity and someone who can control the midfield. Add a striker to that too.

We aren't awful.

We are naive.

This is the squad that drew at Chesterfield and beat Morecambe.

I don't know what is going so wrong - but if some bugger doesn't 't sort it, we are cream crackered.

we have some promising players and we play the ball around well at times but we lack the street wise nouse of teams like Rochdale

We should have been two up at half time on chances/ possession in dangerous areas

As soon as the initiative is wrestled away we go to pieces

We do need experience in the team, and I;m wondering if Collins will be brought in for next week's game to calm things down at the back. This assumes we don't get anyone in before Fleetwood, which is a hard enough prospect but we have to get something there now

Punch drunk teams like Mansfield and Torquay are getting up off the floor, even York are above us now

4-2-3-1 does not work with players of limited ability

Scunthorpe look like they are going for it big with their recent signings.

Paul Hayes is a quality player at this level and proved today with 2 goals, and they have also signed Paddy Madden who scored 23 goals for Yeovil last season.

Either one of those lads would turn us into a very decent team and help give us a cutting edge that we sorely lack at the moment.

We need a goalscorer, an experienced midfield player in the mould of Tinkler, Boland or Widdrington and could do with a big uncompromising centre half. As good as Burgess and Baldwin are individually it seems as a pairing that we are too soft in the middle and we can't defend set pieces. A younger Sam Collins or Gary Strodder type player is what we need.

After watching the second debacle in consecutive home games its abundantly clear we need 2 or 3 new players urgently, and a serious rethink about this 4-1-3-1-1 horseshit formation or whatever its meant to be.

The formation seems to be based around accomodating James Poole, but when he is as lightweight and innefective as he was today, or if we are trying to break a team down with lots of men behind the ball its completely useless.

We are losing today and for a while we play with Walton so deep he may as well be another centre-half, and we still only play with one striker.

When Poole went off he was replaced in no mans land by Monkhouse, with Rodney left midfield a position he cant play, and then we had the ludicrous decision to send Burgess up to play centre forward ??? Some of Coopers decisions/substitutions are really starting to worry me.

Why didnt he just replace Poole with Compton and go 4-4-2 with Monkhouse and James as the strikers ? At least they have shown in the past they can play effectively together up front.

I feel a bit sorry for Rodney being chucked on when the game was lost , but he never once looked like going past that full back, wheras at least Compton beat his man a few times.

Also if Walton is incapable of playing in the oppositions half without looking to pass the ball backwards what fucking use is he when we are 2-0 down.

The way its going at the moment if we dont get some new players in we are going to get sucked into a relegation battle, especially if heads go down the way they did at 2-0 today. The speed with which we went from being in control of the game and dominating possession to looking like we might get beat 5 or 6 nil was frightening

Can't disagree with this.

Worrying times ahead, does anyone think Harewood will help or is Cooper panicking?

His recent stats are howardesque but he could well allow James more space should we finally decide to play two strikers.

Been said a million times before, yet again Rochdale 6ft + beefy players, strong in the tackle, pushed our players off the ball on numerous occasions, same as Oxford,Burton,Newport. What is it with HUFC, do our players lift any weights or follow the right diet in order to bulk up? or do we sign the type of player who capable of becoming athletes. Very possible when you get last choice on whats left.

As I was leaving the ground, KH was leaving and some gadgie said to him, " We are lightweight up front", his reply was, " We had chances we didn`t take" banghead banghead

We did, what he said is true. We should have had the game won at half time.

We need a striker in though I agree with that not sure about the 'lightweight' bit though as for me yesterday Luke James had a very good game and looked a threat just about every time he got the ball.

Hallelujah Mr Twig. A big bully through the middle and a big bully facing up if they it make to the back four. Not pretty, but that's how it's done in this league. Seems like we're losing too many goals from far out from all reports. Is that right?

I haven't been to anywhere near as many games as I would have liked this season, but from what I've seen of Walton over the last year and a bit, combined with the reports from people whose opinions I value on here, I really feel like he is a waste of a shirt.

I don't want to make him an Escape Goat, but I think there is a general concensus that he lacks pace and doesn't venture over the halfway line as much as he should, even for a holding midfielder. Hopefully Dolan will come back from Borer soon, as I think him and Bradley in the centre is the way forward.
