Brutal news for England as he's out for 6 months. Theo would walk into the England side if fully fit.

6 months hopefully means 5 and he can make a recovery

If he's not played football for 6 months before a World Cup come July he won't be anywhere near match fit too make an impact.

We need to learn our lesson from beckham in 02 and Owen / Rooney in 06 n not take people half fit.

I like theo n he's a decent player but I don't think he's that important that we should rush him back half fit.

Rules him out for me.

As if England are going to get past the first knock out stage game anyway.

If I was a footballers earning £10-100k a week I'd be looking forward to a few weeks off with the Mrs and Kids rather than playing footy again.

This, he has no chance.

I dont know like.

If, and I reading between the lines here, he has had a partial rupture, then he may be back sooner than 6 months.

I say reading between the lines, because usually with a full rupture you are looking at 12 months out.

Maybe the 6 month predication was ambitious, and maybe hiding the severity of the rupture?

Even if he missed 4 months because of the injury, that means him not returning until May and again not getting much footy under his belt he wont be fully fit for the WC.

We've been here before, it ended badly then.

I care about England and I think Theo is a good player and it's a shame he is injured.

He seemed to be getting his head up a bit this season, getting more composed infront of goal n picking better crosses out, it's a shame to lose an option in a very option-less squad.

It'll be interesting to see the squad, hopefully no more injuries... One name I'm dreading to see is that league one Man Utd player Cleverley.

One player who has to go is Ross Barkley and if Cleverley gets in ahead of him Roy needs his head looking at.

Lallana is a shoe in now, I would be very surprised if Sterling went ahead of him.

Unlikely Cleverly and Barkley would go .....
Gerrard
Lampard
Wilshire
Carrick

Are ahead of them at the moment and Jordan Henderson is in front of Cleverley on current form

He has got Jones as midfield cover god forbid.

Nathaniel Clyne is an outside shout for the squad given the quality of right backs we got available, I've taken some of the 20/1

Barkley over lampard for me. We dont wanna take 3 players over 33 and at 35/36 i think lampard offers us the least impact.

You'd probably need about 6 players getting injured before clyne goes, dont be waiting on that bet coming off.

I'd take Lampard over Gerrard. At any stage of their career.

Only Walker and Johnson ahead of him as far as I can tell, Hodgson already talked about him in glowing terms and Ray Lewington is at Saints every week.

Im content waiting.

I said a while back I think he'll be the "surprise" casualty from the squad. I think Gerrard Wilshire and carrick are going and maybe Barkley. As for the 4 wide players, Townsend Milner will no doubt be there and then it could be anybody in form really. If I had to give 2 more names now id guess Lennon and the ox. That is solely because I think Liverpool will buy a winger and sterling might not get his game, if this dosnt happen ill swap sterling for Lennon. This also depends on the ox returning from injury and performing as he was before it.

Walcott IMO is a huge loss. He's always said he's a striker and as it stands he had his chance upfront and was 5/5 before the injury. Id play him over any winger and sturridge up front and the likes of sterling or Milner just don't compare.

It narks me Milner gets picked because he is good defensively. Why should any manager pick a winger for this reason, yes it helps but being able to take people on and put decent crosses in should come 1st.

You can see why England managers pick Milner though we're so poor in possesion against the better teams you need someone who is good without the ball. Especially in hot humid conditions fitness will be key.

Plus the 'Boring James Milner' Twitter account is one of funniest parodies around and I want to read it during the three games we're at the World Cup.

Milners looked canny recently and against munich he looked like the milner that first came onto the scene.

It seems over the last few years managers have just been asking him to do a job, he is technically very good but because he is so disciplined he gets asked to fill gabs n do jobs and you get good workrate but you lose an attacking option.

He wouldnt be in my first 11 but i think he will be in roys.
