Reading this it looks like they are going to try and play a passing game

If they do I suspect they'll be torn a new arsehole.

he is wanting to do what Cooper has done here, but Cooper has had half a season to put the building blocks in place and get the team playing well. Which in itself is a ridiculously short time period

How Flitcroft is going to do that in a few days is difficult to imagine to put it mildly

Hopefully he does not expect any football from us because I refuse to believe his players can match ours if they engage us in a passing game

I agree with alienlife about the outcome of this one

I suspect he'll have had us watched on Sunday, whereas his comments were post match, and he'll come and park the bus.

If we start like we started on Sunday, it'll be very difficult day for him.

I can't remember Pools having so many "ball" players in the team at one time as we will have on Wednesday.

Duckworth, Walker, Dolan, Franks, Poole, James, Monkhouse, Burgess and Baldwin

Only Austin is probably an out and out old style defender... but he has adapted to playing balls out to feet to the wings because that is how the rest of the team plays, and he did it again well enough on Sunday

That type of football is the way forward, and Flitcroft is right when he says it, but I just don't think he has the players we have

That team I have written down there has quality all over, no weak links in terms of ball retention and passing/movement and creating space and threatening the opposing goal

If we could finish off even another 20% of our moves and play like we did on Sunday, every game will be won by half time

To say we were excellent is no understatement

That is the makings of a title winning team next season if we miss out this time

Well, as you said somewhere else, it's almost miraculous that he's got the team in the shape it's in in four months with a few frees and a couple of loans, and maybe it's not holding on to Baldwin and James we should be worried about most.

I suggest you watch their first goal against York before saying Bury cant play passing football.

With all due respect York are abysmal. We have actual defenders.

I was dreading this season, would love to see us go on a run like Crew did a couple of years ago, storm into the playoffs then win them at Wembley !

nobody said Bury can't... it's the standard they do it to on a regular basis... it can't be great can it? And to do it against a team just outside the play offs like we did is different
We also passed Chesterfield off the park on their home ground for the last half hour with 10 men.

If we get on our game, I haven't seen a Pools team with this many good footballers in it for years

and that includes the league 1 play off final team which made the league one play offs two years running

It's still a work in progress, but many players in league 2 at other clubs are already at their best/won't get much better

These lads are in their teens or early 20's, and they will definitely get better. I'm talking about 90% of the squad here

Our problem will be keeping these players

If Hartlepool are so good then why have Wednesdays opposition already claimed 3 points against yourselves this season?

We're just getting into our rhythm, sir. A young team who like to get the ball down on our carpet of a pitch and give the fans something to enjoy. If I recall correctly such entertainment is impossible at your ground due to the harvest of many types of vegetable.

I trust you'll be up to watch the game? Feel free to wave!

I fancy Bury on Wednesday, and although I don't support Bury, I'm going to the match with a group of 36 on the train. My Bury supporting friends are confident about another win. Hailing yourselves as "poorest side we've faced, should stuff em by 2 or 3".

Make of that what you will, I am just echoing their opinions.

A Bury fan with the user name 'Tikka Takka Football' Cringeworthy stuff

They play on a ploughed field for a start one of the worst pitches in the Football League and from memory David Flicroft was a slighter better version of Martin Gray, very much in the fourth division clogger envelope. It appears he's got ideas above his station because he's managed in the Championship.

I hope we dick them.

It was all part of the "act" (for want of a better word).

I know no trains are running as I always use rail to travel to games. I'm not even going to the match.

Why is it so expensive btw?
