Worth another look? or has he found his level?
Scoring goals for Spennymoor albeit in the Northern League, but has bulked up a bit since the scrawny kid we had on loan 5 year ago. Sometimes players need to grow and take a step back in order to come back stronger.

Why do people get excited about people scoring goals for spenymoor. Michael McKay is an example of the difference that level and league football has.

He was terrible when we had him on loan and if we are to get a striker in id much rather us get some kid in on loan from the likes of boro. We are playing both there youngsters and progressing there careers. Its proving to be a win win for both clubs. Yeovil proved this is how to do it. Cooper knows there academy inside out and in sure hell know who to approach. Only my opinion like and maybe some folk would like to give him another chance.

MacKay scored some very impressive goals... but mainly instinctive finishes. Not so good at general team play. Shame cos if he had developed in that aspect he would have been a star

The current management team could probably turn a player like Mackay into a useful squad player.

I don't agree to be honest.

He did everything he possibly could have and played under a couple of decent managers/coaches at Pools (Wilson, Butterworth, Wadsworth) and in his few years as a pro he didn't progress at all as a player even though he did his best to do so. Instinctively he could finish but in terms of general play, first touch and especially timing his runs/game awareness he was still totally out of his depth to the day he left the club.

Remember when Turner extended his contract.

Great manager.

I'm not sure if that particular contract extension had much to do with Chris Turner.

MacKay would probably have done better with a run in the team in this division. The level that we were playing at the time was higher than his capability.

Duckworth anyone? If you don't take a punt..... I actually saw Spenny against Synners yesterday ( 28th) . Henderson scored & helped set one up in a 3-1 win. Admittedly the Synners defence weren't great but Henderson played reasonably well. A hell of a step up from the Nthn League to League 2 for any player but might be worth having a look at Henderson again.
