Humphreys scores against us boxing day and then doesnt celebrate and all our fans applaud him n i'll throw up and it'll be dead cringey?!?

I really hate this 'non celebrating a goal against your former club' rubbish thats crept into football these days.

When danny graham scored for hull the other week against swansea he virtually said sorry. Awful too see.

Its called respect and something not alot of footballers have. Chris Westwood showed what pools meant to him when he did it and vice versa with nelson.

I wouldn't cringe I'd just accept that as a club we actually mean something to him

What about respect for the fans and club that pay your wages not your former employers who sold you?

Graham had gone 26 games without scoring, he looked like he was embarassed when he should have been over the moon.

If i was a hull fan i wouldnt have been happy with him for not being elated that he'd scored.

This respect thing is daft, you leave a club for 2 reasons, either they dont want you or you want to leave, if you have that much respect for them then dont play against them, did the swansea fans refuse to celebrate out of respect for graham when they scored?

It's not for me this, you play the game to score, it should be the best feeling ever, not summit that makes you say sorry.

Nowt wrong with showing a bit of respect for a popular former player in the form of applause and vice versa.

But players generally celebrate when they score so against former clubs should do no different. If a player scores against a club he supports then he always seems pretty happy to celebrate.

totally agree with Yubep here. If they play for Pools I don't care who it is they used to play for and if they've just scored against them. They should be going bananas and bonkers and apeshit like what I always does

I might not sing and chant these days but I get a vinegar strokes sensation when Pools put the ball in the opponents net and I always give it "party time" when we score

part 2 - I don't give a shit if the opposing player was an ex Poolie who scored against us, I'm just as pissed off whether he scored it or some fucker else did

i think you can find a middle ground between the danny graham apology and the micky nelson going crazy infront of the town end.

I had my son at his first game on Saturday, I went nuts when we scored n he shit himself, I dont think he'd ever seen me go crazy at footy like that, next time he'll know what to do when we score.

Probably stems from all this wearing of the club shirt/scarf when a player first signs, quickly followed by a load of bullocks in the local paper about how much they love and wanted to play for that particular town/club. When they leave and score against ex club there is a sort of embarrassment.

I would rather they celebrate as well, gives us on the MIll House terrace something else to hate

I tell you what boils mine is when players ,when they score grabbing their shirt and pointing to their heart area ( I love this club and yous fans me like ) This activity usually proceeds transfer to another club and dishing the dirt on their ex employer/colleagues.

Isn't life fun

Badge kissing is another cringey act modern players do, i think all this non celebrating badge kissing BS stems from players caring about there image so much n marketing themselves, they have to appear like they give a shit to get twitter followers n marketing deals.

They are all mercenaries deep down.

The 'Eifion Crucifix' was my favourite celebration. No shouting, no skidding on the knees, no clenched fist pumping, just running the adrenalin off.

Even he refused to celebrate when he bagged against Torquay, the bugger.

I think it all depends in how long you were at the club and the circumstances in which you left

16/1 first or last...6/1 anytime. Just done Duckworth anytime at 11/1

Last game cooper was constantly shouting at Compton to take on their left back, I hope he does the same cos he will leave Humphreys in his wake. We simply have to focus out attacking down his side and exploit his lack of pace.

Been backing Duckworth each way for 1st goalscorer last few games and getting 40/1 or 13ish/1 for the each way. Surely got to get one soon.
