that went as I expected if they scored first, which they did. I was dreading that

Thankfully we managed to wrestle a point out of the game

Sometimes you have to own up and say you can see the difference between an embryonic team (Pools) and a squad that seems to have been building towards a promotion push for a few seasons (Burton)

Pools play more off-the-cuff than Burton do, but they were what I expected. Pressed us and didn't give us time on the ball, and broke quickly getting the ball forward early (similar to Newport)

I'm happy to take a point from that, sometimes you have to say it's all we merited.

No draws at home then 3 in the last 3 games.

Classic mid table team this season I think

Yep agree. Think we need to put Monkey back up top with James.

The ref was a Fukn disgrace. All game just Fukd us off in important positions. The goal should not have stood after a blatent hack on james and then we have comptons blatent hack on either the edge or inside which would have been a pen. The count was endless on these decisions. He was either bent as fuck or just completely shit, I'm considering both.

Can anyone confirm if the ball was over the line or not in the 2nd half?? I was stood behind it so couldn't tell

On the game id say they had 35 mins a in the 1st half but we gradually came into it, then the 2nd we just battered them. I remember them having 1 chance that to be fair looked in but went wide but apart from that we took control. Walkers goal was top drawer. Absolutely brilliant finish. Baldwin put 1 wide soon after and then James weaves his way inside the box only to fire wide.

A point a fair result but that ref was a fucking joke and cost us the game

Glad to hear that, it will actually help me sleep knowing it wasnt in!!

Was comptons 'foul' inside or outside the box, again from we're i was I couldn't tell. Everyone was just going offit and then within a minute or so Compton himself was booked for the famous arm throw dissent manoeuvre! Clearly pissed off over the foul on him still and IMO rightly so. I don't agree with cards like this but hopefully the club understand why he was so angry.

the lino on the CK side must have had the offside rule explained to him 10 minutes before kick off.Cos he had no idea what constitutes offside
Comical how he allowed them to almost score after their player was 10 yards offside, but on the cross into the box he flags for offside when their player has a great chance but this time the player wasn't even off!!

How can players and managers have confidence in the officials when they are as bad as he was?

compton was well peeved with the lino he was doing a bit of sarcastic clapping later on when the lino give us a decision.

Not sure if it was a pen or not i've seen them given but it would have been described as a soft one.

Did anyone else see Compton push their player over in front of the Lino for a free kick? Just I was stood in line with him at the time and all I saw was a Burton player who had realised the officials were on crack or had been nobbled by a betting syndicate get a free kick for play acting.

The FA must look at match reports work out who the shit officials are and send them to us. I'm certain with the benefit of video referees we would have been a championship club and would have finished with more points every season in the last 20 years.

I thought it was a great advert for League Two, and a really entertaining game. Both sides played some smashing football and it could easily have ended 3-3.

Once again the only blemish was the absolutely fucking pisspoor referee, and a linesman who managed to be even more incompetent than the clueless twat in the middle. How both of them managed to miss the blatant fouling of James immediately before the opening goal beggars belief. Their lad nearly took the fucking shirt off Luke James back, he must have hold of it right in front of the pair of them for a good 6 seconds.

As for the fucker booking Compton for dissent after a blatant bodycheck on the edge of the box words absolutely fail me.

You could argue they deserved a point after shading the first half, but the last half hour I thought they were there for the taking, and were out on their feet. Bit more composure in front of goal and we could have had all 3 points.

Pretty much agree with that I was as impressed with as side as I have been all season after having watched Burton for the first half an hour but did think they can't keep this work rate and tempo up, they didn't we grew into the game and were by the far the better team second half when they sat on a point and run out of ideas.

It was the best quality game I've seen at the Vic all season but it left me thinking why do we consistently start games slowly of late? Especially at home, get rid of these flat starts and we'll win games like today.

The ref was indeed a pug ugly shitehawk, utterly rubbish. I reckon League Two Refs are appointed on a weekly basis from people waning work experience.

I feel we should be more of an attacking force at home and drop one of the two deep midfielders for Walker, who looks to get forward and has the swagger of a player who believes he will score.
Compton. although rather petulant, at least looks to beat his man and get a cross in, which with a 5ft 7in forward probably isn`t the best option, unless Monky can drag himself into the box from his deeper position.

When James gets it to feet, he can turn them carthorse defenders and do some damage, second half we started to do that and make chances, the long punt up is pretty pointless and we have the players to play it on the deck.

It was an enjoyable game and they made us look shaky at the back first half, could have won if taken the half dozen chances.

I also think the Walton/Dolan partnership has ran its course for home games. Walker is making it very hard for Cooper to say Walton should be picked ahead of him now

When Walker lost the ball in the second half on the edge of their box, his tackle to win it back and take their man out of the game was brilliant

Sadly though the incompetent arsehole in the black strip whistled it as a foul

I'm also pleased that Sweeney wasn't seen as the answer to our inability to make a breakthrough.

Cooper already knows his long term strategy in my opinion, and is currently making use of all of the squad to avoid burning out the star players

If we are to push on next season and challenge for the play offs, there's no doubt that the core of next season's squad would also have been our best players this season. We need to add to those, to turn us from being an ok squad into a very good one

Some have improved greatly, but if those average ones (e.g.Walton) were also to stay on next season they would have to be considered fringe players

I think it was just about inside the box, and there was enough to merit a penalty from it. His booking came after he cleanly tackled their full back on the half way line, but the clueless linesman on the Millhouse side saw it as a freekick. Understandably pissed off by the decision, the ref booked him for dissent.
