I thought that said AVB is a gooner- would explain why he spunked their budget and then kept reverting to suicidal defensive tactics.

To be fair I watched that game last night and Liverpool were relentless. On the other hand he should have done something about his defence when they shipped six at Manchester City. All that money in the summer went up front and in midfield.

It didn't help his cause by playing a midfielder in central defence against one of the best forward players in the world. He was chasing shadows all day. Its a big club - don't they have a proper centre-half to put in?

What possesses them to think playing 1 up front with three holding midfield players at home will endear them to fans?

Football is meant to be entertaining. Some managers have no idea about that.

Its the same with the long ball merchants. It amazes me that Allardyce and mangers like him still keep getting jobs as well.

I agree about long ball merchants but can I ask you a question would you rather Pools play "attractive" footy and get beat or play three holding midfielders and win 1-0 over 50% of the time??

There is no reason to play three holding midfield players ever..................unless you are scared.

4 5 1 is a system I always think shows the manager is more scared of the opposition than he has faith in his own players.

So we could win 50% of the games 1-0 playing like that, but I would hate it.

And as soon as the wins dry up, so would everyone else.

And if those wins were away from home with shite home form then Mick Wadsworth would get the sack.
