i'd sooner see it go to someone whos doing some good (dont start on me just giving an opinion ). give it to someone in the health service (not an administrator) or a soldier in conflict

There is a spate of these petitions since the No 10 website started offering them and each of them is completely pointless. The NY & Birthday honours are awarded through an honours committee. They sit and consider people who are nominated through a strict process. The procedure is here:

This is the way to get someone an MBE/OBE or whatever not a post on a messageboard. Sorry to be brutal but its the way it is.

Having said all that, I agree with Timmy, I think awards for services to sport / entertainment / making yourself rich, should be outlawed.

As Jeff Stelling himself has said, he would be happier with Pools winning the Title, than him receiving a Knighthood.

We don't seriously expect or want this petition to result in a Sir before Jeff's name, it was just a joke, lighten up a little lads. Anyone would think you were all stressed for some reason.
