I honestly thought he was trying to get sent off at Pools last season, just before that match at Oldham

Some of the refereeing displays I've seen at our games make me wonder how many of them are either escaped mental patients or on the fiddle.

There's that many markets now on the football its very easy to make some extra cash. You can bet on basically everything. A player to recieve a card before the 28th minute is generally 5/6. How easy would that be. If it goes say 25 n your getting away with it. Just tell the ref to fuck off or call him something. Take the yellow and rake in the cash. You can bet in how many throw ins there will be on the opening 10 minutes, normally 5.5 +/- 5/6. Again how easy to do this. It could explain flinders kicking!! Red card is obviously going too far

I tried to bet on on an ex pools loan player to get booked in a game a few years ago but neither coral or Ladbrokes would take the bet.

The player was playing for a London team in the premier league at the time. The rumour was that he wanted his fifth booking of the season to get suspended so he could attend s family party .

He got booked in the game, not sure how many people of any got the bet on.

Paid all the pools team 10k each once to get beat 3-0. Lost a fortune, they lost 6-0

all the single bets you can place are causing this. The bookies will only take so much of a caning and if legislation comes in, they'll have to suspend these other markets

Another reason why sin bins must never come into the sport... the game is already a target for corruption as things stand!!!

One site (possibly Corals) was allowing you to bet on every minute whether there was a throw in or not.

Ie - 1st minute- throw in or not...
2nd minute - throw in or not....

all the way upto the 90th minute.

May explain why we used to kick the ball out of play straight from every kick off around the Turner era.

Was going to just double my stake each time there wasnt a minute with a throw in etc but didnt have the patience.

An Oldham player arrested too.

Wonder if he played in the infamous Oldham game which sent us down?

There used to a spread index on the time of the first throw in. There was an ex Premier League player - might have been Matt Le Tissier- who admitted booting the ball straight out from the kick off to land the bets. Think there were so many people blatantly doing it the market eventually got scrapped.

It was Matt Le Tissier. He tried to boot it straight out from the kick off but it was kept in and he ran around like a maniac trying to get the ball off the pitch. He lost a packet on his bet and never tried it again. It's in his book.

I agree. I've even joke he's that bad he must be on the take.... But at times some of ours were worst and couldn't take advantage of his deliberate mistakes

Turner said we used to do that to put the opposition full back under immediate pressure. The bloke was a lunatic.

(Brief aside....)
Danny Wilson was a winning answer in Pointless yesterday.
This means that he was a LMA winning manager of the year, but that no-one had heard of him.
