No, not the Aussies over the Kiwis or anything footy related. No. The 5k Parkrun PB by ECG over at Sedgefield Parkrun.
Well done Mr Dunn! Phil is now on course for a sub - 27 min 5k.

Maybe not quite in the same class as Smythe but not bad for an old gadgie. Showing a clean pair of heels to some of the youngsters today.

Not heard of Parkrun - a free timed 5k run open to all ages & abilities - follow the link - http://www.parkrun.org.uk/sedgefield/

Smythe/ Nick Louglin & a few other Poolies have graced Sedgy Parkrun already. Come & add to the list of Poolies running around one of the best parks in the North-East. Bring the wife, the kids, the dog , walk , run or jog but come & try it.

Congrats to Phil - Pity a great start to the day was ruined by today's performance.

Used to run the Albert Park Run every week - great event and sad that I fell out of the habit of doing it. I was close to getting below 20 mins this tie last year on that fast route - wish I'd kept it up.... Always next week.....

Jonny- there's always this week. Albert Park/Sedgy/Stockton- get it done man. Phil tells me that the Burn Rd crew might even be setting one up in Pools come Feb' time or thereabouts. Won't be as good as the Sedgy one mind

Jonny, get yourself back along mate. This Parkrun thing has been like a new lease of life for me and Bresslaw. I couldn't run 50 yards in September, never mind 5k, now I'm doing 5k a DAY and have just broken 27 mins (although theres NO chance of me doing that at hilly Sedgefield! That last hill second time around is the killer!).

I've lost best part of 3 stone since Sept 24th and feel fitter than I have since my teens. Loving it.

Image Can put Seaton Lions 5-0 Victory over the older Seaton Tigers Team into the mix.. A great day would've been ideal for any team wanting to scout the local 17 yo talent

That scaffolding looks a bit suspect to me.

I've got a bit on over the next few weeks but without doubt I'm going to start doing the park runs again in 2014.

For people who don't know about them they are great events every Saturday and suitable for all standards and ages from sub 16 minute club runners to gentle joggers who may trundle round in 40+ minutes.

That's also good news about Hartlepool possibly getting one, where is it going to be? 5k is a lot of laps of Ward Jackson or are they going to try and run it along Seaton Front?

Rumour is that it's through the Burn Valley but not sure. If anybody in Pools is in touch with any of the Burn Rd Harriers they may have an update.

According to a mate who runs for Burn Road it is along Seaton Prom.

This is the exact message I was sent when I asked about when it is starting

'trial run meant to be happening January with a veiw to it starting early Feb or asap, council dragging their feet at present...'

There was one up at Ward Jackson too on Saturday when I was walking down to the match.
