Just been speaking to the 80's Pools Striker for Saturday's programme. What a thoroughly decent chap! Great prospect in his day.

Remember him well - great prospect, but if I remember correctly had problems with his knees. Didn't we get him from one of the Sheffield sides?

Enjoyed the Mally Moore one in last Saturdays programme, in fact I like this feature, probably best bit of programme for me. Still a poor programme IMO and nowhere near as good as Gatesheads like.

can anyone remember those ghost-written generic paragraphs of waffle what used to be plagiarised and inserted into every footy programme in the 70's and 80's, usually under the heading of "Talking football" or some such non-club specific drivel. I used to think it would have been better to just stick another advert in

I'm sure when they used up the 6 or so articles in existence, they would re-print the 1 st one in a football programme-style endless tape loop of waffle

He was great on the phone, really loved his time at Pools and spoke very highly of the club, he will always be a Pools fan.
