The Millhouse has also been pre warned about this ,we are a footy supporters bar, and dont take sides in anything political, so any fans attending the EDL march please do not turn up at the millhouse wearing your tee shirts etc, there has not been any bother at the Mill in the 5yrs since i have been here and we dont want to start now, the police will be out in force by all accounts, Keep things football lads, come on the pools .

We need to start battening down the hatches in advance. I'll bring my 13 year old West Highland Terrier on her long lead. Any others willing to help with their specially trained attack dogs?

have you seen how ugly most of the EDL marchers are?

Surely they would benefit from the use of the Burkha?

Not very bright are they?

There are mostly missing a few chromosomes and we really shouldnt laugh at them as its wrong to laugh at the afflicted.

When anyone is in the EDL or can tolerate anyone that is in it is beyond me.

Moral of the story from Chip then is dont go to ward jackson or King Johns on Saturday then, stick to "local" pubs like the Mill House.

I'm going to spend this week counting Burkas in the town and if I see more than 4 in one day I'll donate a months wages to the EDL for protecting us from people wearing the clothing of their choice. In a country their forefathers died to protect the freedom of people to do what they like (within reason) and the same freedom that allows them to wander about ruining people's days and generally being not nice people.

I'd love someone from the EDL to give us a coherent argument why we should join them in supporting their march in Hartlepool, a seething hotbed of Islamic extremism if ever there was one, then I'll join up straight away. Sadly we already know its just some knobheads to need to be part of a gang before they can get full of drink and sing abusive songs like daft lads.

I would suggest they have mental issues, which should result in The Fat man coming on telling me I havent a clue.

I mean, surely he wouldnt be prejudiced against certain mental illnesses but not others?

It's highly likely the Penguin/Oompa Loompa invasions of London will have been more high profile and intimidating than a few blokes who should know better showing off to some kids.

Well, I have a cat who'll have their guts for gaiters. He's harder than your puppy and Elvis' terrier combined.

Seriously, there are good arguments for banning the burka, but the fact that EDL are using the issue as a weapon means that the whole question is becoming untouchable.

According to Mr Monkeybutt there are good arguments for banning sandals but because bohemian dudes and dudettes of all religiouns and races like to have cool feet in the summer the EDL don't seem keen to march against this continental footwear threat.

The thing is if these folk are so bent on defending England why don't they get jobs and abide by the laws of the land instead of making the Police spend a fortune watching their who can be the daftest non racist racist contest.

Exercising their right to march basically. I am all for that, we live in a democracy, but ffs on a pools matchday when they play Pompey, just mischief making designed to disrupt and cost the taxpayer money through extra policing. Funny how striking miners were turned back at roadblocks when trying to exercise their right to picket and football kick off times are changed at the drop of a hat, yet this march is allowed to go ahead. Of course these brainless morons are not a threat to anyone really except themselves, hence they are allowed to march. Will probably effect retail trade in the town and peoples enjoyment of the matchday. Will be an edge on Saturday in town.

Marching to exercise the right to match. That sounds like a cracking Saturday afternoon out.

That about sounds the top and bottom of it. Matching to raise an issue that's not an issue. Clueless.

Thankfully I will be in the motor at the weekend so won't be anywhere near any potential kick offs. It has all the ingredients for something to happen by the sounds of things.

Yeah well you could say that cos all that other stuff is being banned by proxy that clothes are the next to go. They might as well start with trying to get stuff that hardly anyone wears banned cos that won't really matter.

that's what I posted on a Pools facebook page and some of the loonies who think this march is a good idea "liked" my comment

They couldn't even understand what I wrote FFS !!! :angry-screaming: :angry-screaming:

I PM'd the board mod to delete it cos it's non football related, and the anti EDL posters had showed incredible restraint up to that point, but it will just be bad news if it continues.

Mind you most of them in support of the march are about 12 years old

Have a look at them when they march. Or rather strutt.

Then ask yourself this:

Would this country be better off binning THEM or the Burkha?

I know what I think.
