Phone/Internet/Computer Help Needed!!!!

I've got unlimited Internet on my phone....is it possible to connect my phone to the computer (which has no Internet) and use the phones Internet or is that a stupid question????

Some phones can be used as a personal hotspot which would allow you to connect wirelessly via your pc network connection

Yes it is possible. Just google that personal hotspot stuff, you basically turn your phone into a wifi connection.

You might be able to connect using a cable depending on the phone. Its called tethering I think.

It's normally easier to connect to the hotspot using a usb cable. You basically just plug the cable in and switch the hotspot on.....

Lads at work are on 3 network and have umlimited data....so we take our laptops in on nights and just tether them to laptops... and we watch you tube catch up tv and everything else... and there is no lagging or anything....but suppose it depends on phone....

I get 5mb connection on my missus's 3 phone in tethered mode. Thats quicker than most non VM houses in this country.

What sort of phone is it Mutters?

i have unlimited data but my contract does not support tethering so i get charged extra if i do, best check with your network to see if there is anything hidden like that

It's a Samsung Galaxy Y....my other Samsung phone got 'dropped' & apparently was unrepairable!!!!

I've got a samsung galaxy on 3 and use around 30gb a month tethering my ipad to it and watching all the catch up stuff. Can get up to 8mb speed and there is very little lagging even when 2 or 3 devices connect to it. Doing it eats data and need my phone plugged in as it drains the battery pretty quick.

You need to be on the 'One plan'. This allows unlimited tethering.

Don't mention tethering the board will be full of peg selling bastads..Just ran speedtest on my phone and got 10Mb download speed ..not too shabby..
