On-loan Wrexham goalkeeper Anthony Williams hopes that his move from Carlisle United will be made permanent at the end of the season.
"I'm out of contract in the summer and I won't be staying at Carlisle," Williams told Wrexham's website.

"I want to do a job for Wrexham and hopefully stay here longer."

Williams, 29, has kept four clean sheets in six games since joining Wrexham and helped the Dragons to three wins in their bid to beat the drop.

If he keeps another one on Saturday, it could do us a massive favour.
Always said he was a good keeper

It's amazing that he kept Dimi out of the team. I wish him well, he did a good job for us for quite a while although his form nose dived in a big way towards the end.

Didn't Provett take over from him, at Hillsbrough in the League Cup
and kept the shirt until Dimi came on the scene.
But, yes he had some great games for us, I think his confidence was shot, at the end, and to think we could have had £300k for him.

I thought Cooper hoofed Taffy and signed Dimi. I got the impression they were never at the club at the same time.

Then again I still firmly believe that we clinched promotion in '69 against Donny and it was Swansea.......for whom Darry Duffy scored another two on Saturday.

I'm almost certain Wirriams was still on the books when Dimi fist came for his trial, but I'm just as certain he never played for the first team after Dimi arrived.
IIRC the last 1st team game he played in was a paintpot/windscreen cup game where he let three goals in and Cooper remarked "it was just like going back to those pre-season matches - every time they shot you knew they were going to score".

Taff played the first game of Cooper's reign and let in three at Posh, Coops then put Provett in for the Sheff Wed League Cup game where he played a blinder and deservedly played the next few games. Then Dimi came on trial.

Taff then mouthed off to the press about wanting first team football and going elsewhere if he didn't get it at Pools, upon which Cooper signed Dimi on a short deal and put him on the bench in Williams place - he played in the LDV against Oldham and let in another three IIRC, then got shuffled out on loan to Swansea and then Stockport before leaving for good....
