Root I have no problem with but what is Bairstow's qualification apart from he is 'young', why is he being given more chances than Taylor?

That's a better question and one I don't have the answer to really. I can only imagine the selectors believe Taylor to have some kind of flaw with his game in international cricket, or maybe just see Bairstow as a better player. Taylor will get a chance to prove himself again in time that much I know. Maybe if Bairstow gets a few more low knocks in the rest of this series Taylor will be given a chance then. As I say it's a question I'm not really sure how to answer, but equally I'm not too fussed that Bairstow has had more chances than Taylor as I think he's a fine player, just a little raw and out of practice prior to this series.

There are no better players than the six already in the team.

Its unfortunate for Bairstow that Cook, Trott and Peiterson keep giving their wickets away too cheaply. Bell and Bairstow have been under pressure in almost every innings of this series. Bell has shown his class, Bairstow has shown his flaws.

Root will be world class, so leave him alone.

Our batting generally in this series has been poor, but I get PJ,s point about the pitches not helping, as they appear to have been doctored to suit Swann.

But we have suddenly decided the aussie bowling is very good, when infact its very limited, if nagging, and we have lost patience and played some stupid shots......time after time. Has Lyon actually spun many?

Look at our scores, for a team aiming to be No1 in the world:

1st test 1st inings: 215 all out
2nd innings: 11 for 2.
2nd test 1st innings: 28 for 3
2nd innings: 30 for 3.
3rd test 1st innings: 64 for 3.
2nd innings: 27 for 3.
4th test 1st innings: 238 all out The actual one good start from the top order 107 for 1.
2nd innings: 49 for 3.

Doesnt make good reading, and certainly doesnt help Bairstow.

Yet we could go 3-0 up soon. How bad are the aussies really then? Maybe we need to stop making them out to be world class. India and South Africa would murder them.

Accurate summary. They are woeful, but we have still managed to make them look strong at times. The series over there will give a better indication of who is where in the pecking order.

Once again Dibble tries to argue against a position that nobody is taking. Who on earth is trying to claim that this Australia team is world-class? They've bowled some good spells, and have bowled in general with very good discipline.

Root gets stuck on his crease at times, Bairstow is battling a tendency to play around the line. Both are working hard to correct these flaws and I reckon both are best served doing this in their natural batting positions. Neither have been helps by an unusually poor series from what has been a very reliable top four.

What do you bloody mean, Once again? :angry-tappingfoot:

Well it doesnt matter now for this series. but it matters going forward into the winter.

I want to see a batters paradise at the Oval and we win the toss and bat first and bat for 2 full days minimum and get 600+

Fuck the result, fook the crowd, juts spend that last test destroying their bowlers. Ready for November.

not sure whether this has been mentioned but Bairstow has a better average this series than both Trott and Cook.

Listening to the cricket on my phone at work on a station called Test match sofa.

Quite good. Infact makes a change from Jonathon Bloody agnew, and his very correct attitude.

It looks like we are terrified of the pitch now, and are just trying to hit everything for four.

Aye. Weird how we made Harris look like he was bowling with an cruise missile, yet the aussies are 80 for 0.

If they continue at 4 an over they opt to keep playing tonight.

Anderson looks fucked here, struggling to run in.

The wicket has flattened out and anything it is doing is too slow.

So now it's the wickets fault ?

We have been very lucky to retain the ashes , too many passengers and people resting on their laurels.
Aussies working on their game, while we sit back and draw pictures of each other !

As I said from the start, and have been proven right again, we aren't as good and aus aren't as bad as everyone says

Hopefully this is the kick in the arse we need before going down under,

Well done broad, but 3-0 flatters England, feelwe are setting ourselves for a fall if we don't shake off this complacency
A combined 11 would probably be half and half for players

Cook
Warner
Bell
Pieterson
Clarke
Watson
Haddin
Broad
Harris
Swan
Anderson

What is almost admirable about your trolling is that you've kept going no matter how fucking stupid and clueless you've been made to look over and over again.

I mean are my eyes letting me down or is Shane Watson in that combined team

He is in as an all rounder, tight bowling and decent enough with the bat for a number 6, plus his competition was your bum boy bairstow !

You are good at knocking people's opinions, so how about you put down your combined 11
