I know we shouldn't feed you but Bairstow hasn't been brought back into the side at all.

I dont understand all these pundits saying 250 will be enough they got 280 in first innings and we have 260 now.

Although isnt it meant to be a bit overcast tomorrow so hopefully we can use the swing.

1. Check the top 4 innings totals at Trent Bridge
2. Graeme Swann

Hoping for 280 now but I reckon 250 would be fine

200 ahead but I would like another 80. Or more if I am being greedy.

Broad is being very lucky at the moment.

It's not greedy. We've seen in one dayers how well Bell can attack so even if we lose wickets and we need a bit of a slog we can pick up runs that way. We're keeping it interesting that's for sure

Watching him bat with Bairstow today you could see the difference in class between them.

My glass may be half empty but is it worrying that we seem to be finding batting easier now?

What happens if they continue to run down the middle of the pitch now they've had the warning?

Wish someone would tell Broad to calm the fck down, time is on our side and the longer we bat the more chance of the pitch deteriorating. Let the slogging commence once we're eight down

The Ashes has been fcking amazing so far!

Broad can expect a fair bit of stick for that one. Not good to see regardless of what happened yesterday

Love it. These things have way of evening out and we got a decision back. Umpire was shocking though.

Good to seethe top players setting an example for the youngsters and upholding the "Spirit or the Game" .. Maybe it'll stop people complaining about the "football" cheaters

Are you allowed to wait and see if its a no ball????

Could this easily be what he was doing??

Pretty much like everybody else has when they were out

Umpire didnt give it, its now 2-1 on poor decisions and for the record the Aussie captain Clarke did it aswell not so long ago and used twitter of all places to apologise. Agar was on 6 remember when he was given the all clear yday. See how many broad adds.

Totally different. There main scorer wouldn't have know if he was out of his ground or not. So he highly likely to walk is he Broad cheated. If a footballer had blatantly cheated as bad as that there be uproar. As they say it's not cricket.

2 wrongs don't make a right. Clarke cheated what was/is your opinion of Clarke after that incident. It should now be the same for Broad

In this case, two wrongs definitely make it right. It's the way they play cricket, by should we not play in the same vain?

Just for Bob.

It's the 89th minute of the play off final, the score is 2-2 and we're down to 10 men.

The ball is played through to Jon Daly who trips over his bootlaces, the linesman has a poor view and flags for a penalty against Sheffield Wednesday, the ref agrees but Daly and most of the Pools players know it was never a penalty in a million years.

Should they?

A) protest to the ref until he takes the penalty off us?

B) deliberately miss?

C) Take the decision and win the game?

IMO that decision could have been vital and the umpire is there to make the decision the players on both sides are there to win the game not make friends with the opposition.

I say this as someone who was gutted for the Aussie kid when he didn't get 100.

Football always had cheats. Cricket had its codes of conduct for use of better words. I want to win. I think Broad out of order nothing anyone says will change my mind, just as nothing I say will change theirs. I wait for the improbability that some Aussie doesn't walk when blatantly out and then goes to score the winning run that wins them a test this summer to see how those saying tough luck react to that scenario. I did say improbability as can't see us losing a test this summer and even if Broad had walked we wouldn't have lost this one

So cos football has always had cheats that's ok?

Bonkers. Rules is rules and the rules are in most if not all sports that the officials make the decisions.

Just for the do-gooders and mentally insane.

I think broad Should Give up his wicket now.

And then on the interest of fair play the aussies Should let trott bat again.

Or

broad Should be given out and have the extra runs removed. And the aussies in the interest of fair play have the extra runs agar scored after he was out removed.

Afterall Both were appalling umpiring decisions.

Or are we trying to help the aussies win?

No I'm not saying its ok I'm saying there's a difference between the games. Cricketers played fair. You only have to look at the Ramdin incident, Knott, Engineer, would never have even attempted to claim it. Like I said its matter of opinion. I know they don't have to walk and if been an edge that Broad may not have really known he'd done then I would say thats the rub of the green as many are saying. But he knew he had hit that.

So what he hit it.

The umpire gave him not out. He didnt decide d himself.

And it wasnt broads fault the aussies Had wasted their referals on one ridiculous lbw appeal.

I Cant believe this is even being discussed.

Bob. After agar saw the replays Why do you think he didnt walk?

My belief is that Broad should have walked, call me old fashioned it was I played cricket. And I bet it was way you played it. We're always going to disagree. Pointless taking it any further as we're always going to disagree The picture was to say that some still frames may have in the umpires decision been inconclusive you say he was out someone else say he was in. Find me anyone who'll say Broad didn't edge it.

Bob, why should England handicap themselves by playing differently to every other team?

Yes we'd all like players to walk when given out but no-one does anymore so why should we?

Bob are you allowed to wait and see if its a no ball and is this ok and not considered "cheating"??

A simple yes or no will do??

If yes then once broad realises the umpire hasn't give it do you honestly think he's going to say hang on aleem I hit that. This is the ashes, to England and Australia this is the be all and end all of the sport, way above the World Cup or the icc trophy. There's way too much at stake.

Just a thought bob but for every Englishman broad pissed off yesterday I bet there's 100 saying well done

If only broad had took fetish bobs advice the game would be finished by now and the Aussies 1 up

Whatever happens pub cricketer bairstow needs dropping as does Finn

Unlucky doubledecker, better luck next time

Fantastic Test match, a wonderful start to what look like being a very competitive series.

?????

I said on page 1 or 2 on this thread this will be a very close series, 2-1 either way.
Looks like we have the best bowler in Anderson but the Aussies have a deeper tail- Compton and bresnan for bairstow and Finn would leave me a lot more confident
