Scottish Power sent me an email saying I'm not paying enough monthly by direct debit. And they need to increase it from next month

How the F*** , with the last bill paid a couple days ago can I not be paying enough when I'm just short of a £100 in credit. Which will increase over the next 3 months because I'll have no heating on. They can F*** right off and give me that back and I'll look to switch. Robbing Bar stewards

Just checked the amount was deducted yesterday for £156.47 and I was £256.76 in credit yesterday, today they send me email saying I don't pay enough. How f*** they work that one out

They'll base it on what you used last winter so you don't have a big fuck off bill by April next year.

I'm currently £516 in credit with npower and our 6 month bill is due next month. The last one was £399 so I reckon my DD will go down.

You don't have to accept the change; contact them if you're not happy.

We sell all our community produced renewable power to Good Energy - they are small, really decent to deal with and have always helped us out if we've needed a hand. We don't use them domestically as yet - apparently M&S vouchers are more important to the missus - but we will do soon. The big power companies are at it and the more people wise up and use the smaller suppliers, the better.
Just fitted PV panels to the roof and our leccy usage is dropping down to level where we are paying less than £50ish a month.
I think the way to wise up the power companies is for us all to use less power. We save money and the prices should drop as they compete to sell.

Got a great deal on 4kW (£5.5k for a micro-inverter system, fully fitted) - makes around £600 a year but the beauty of them is that when they are making power, if you use it, its free. So we heat all our hot water during the day and do the washing when the suns shining. Means we are stinking in the winter but thats the price you pay :-D

The FIT process was a piece of piss and we take a reading 4 times a year and the money just appears in the bank.

I'd probably be pissed off with the big companies if my own bills hadn't gone down consistently for the last 3 years.

I dislike how they make things complicated and I'm not the biggest fan of paying 6 months direct debits and then getting a bill but it works out cheaper so I'm happy. What I think irks me more than anything is that we could afford higher bills but can get the cheapest deals off them, where people who have less money and can't do the monthly DD or have been in debt etc end up paying more for exactly the same stuff.

I think the price of utilities means it's a self fulfilling prophecy that folks will use less....

Trouble is that because of daily standing charges or dual pricing those that use least pay the most per kwh, the higher users are the ones who benefit, which makes no environmental sense at all.
