Yes, another food thread!! Ive just had a fantastic meal at this place.

£12-50 happy hour deal and it was absolutely brilliant.

- Prawn crackers appetiser
-choice of about 20 starters
- choice of about 20 main courses

I cant recommend it highly enough.

I went years ago but don't remember it being half as good. I will definitely be going again (and may be even willing to go outside of happy hour times!!! )

I mentioned it in one of the 87 food threads that have appeared in recent weeks. Sorry 88 now

Easily one of the best restaurants in Town, certainly the most authentic Asian food in town. I have no idea why it isn't more busy. Probably because it isn't ridiculously cheap. I think people would rather eat mountains of shite for £7.95 than pay a bit more for lovely food.

Ah food snobbery, the haves and the have nots, not everyone can afford 12.50 a head, quantity over quality is on the increase, look at how many bogof pubs there are now and how busy they are, fortunately for them, most people are thick and cannot see that 9.50 for lasagne at bogof is still a rip off banghead

Im not one for spending a fortune on meals but £12.50 for the 4 course meal I just had was certainly not a rip off.

I would agree about the crappy bogof meals at a lot of the pubs like.

It was an observation regarding the bogof pubs dullard and yes, apart from other derogatory traits, it would appear food snobbery has made it on the list

So me failing to understand why a really good restaurant isn't more busy is 'food snobery' Then after saying this calling people thick for eating at BOGOF pubs is about as clear an example of double standards as you'll ever see.

'derogatory traits' you don't know me from Adam.....

I think it's the cornerstone of any delicious Thai meal.

Tea or Coffee.

Do you ever deal with the point or just deflect the obvious in the hope people don`t notice?

I will point it out again, QUOTE " I think people would rather eat mountains of shite for 7.95 than pay a bit more for lovely food" is what you said, I added that thickos get taken in by bogofs!

Pop into stages Adam and I will cook you lovely food for 3.99, surprised we are not busier being ridiculously cheap :shifty:

I was actually talking about the Indian restaurants in the town who do the 'five course' offers and get busy even though they're in the main pretty average, but the Baan Thai who also do a happy hour and the food is superb are still really quiet.

So you're actually missing my point, going on about pubs and a cafe.

Oh the Indian restaurants, you should have said, the glass ball is in for repairs and forgive me for being so harsh, I should have known the tenuous link of Asian covered Indians, as Thai is clearly not, never mind, I`m sure in your own mind you know what your on about!

Greasy spoon my arse, 5 star rating boy and you could eat off the floor, come on raise your standards, you can eat for free and park outside, just use your blue badge thing.

My double standards alarm has just exploded, please contact the fire brigade.

I knew it would be dodgy if it went off twice so quickly.

The greasy spoon comment was a joke because you have called me a snob.

Shall I start putting footnotes* on my posts to help?

*This is a footnote.

I'll pay a higher price for better food and surroundings, doesn't make me a snob.

I also wouldn't eat anywhere in Hartlepool. Or Middlesbrough.

Strangely enough, when I'm in England 20 snots a head seems expensive to me, whereas that's what I pay all the time in France.
Must be in the genes.
