Well done to the bloke for winning it. I didn't see any of it but would assume that if he won it was cos he was better than the other bloke.

What I find sadder than all of the Murray bashing on this thread though is that so many of you seemed to be sat watching the telly on the hottest day of the year so far rather than being out and about in the nice weather. I think it just goes to show what a lazy bunch of bastads this country is currently producing who would rather watch somebody exercise than get off their own arses and do stuff themselves.

I trust you wont be watching any sport on a hot day then?

What if i exercised on the morning, stopped to watch the tennis, then exercised after?

I didnt realise when it was warm i have to exercise for the full 24 hours of the day.

Andy Murray fully deserves our praise and admiration, not only has he finally forced the press to have to think of something less dull than the last time a Brit won Wimbledon in the run up to it he has also proved that dull blokes from Scotland can have really fit birds.

You won't have seen me there cos I wasn't. I rarely get time to play, certainly not as often as I'd like!

I took the kids out for the day instead of watching the tennis. The only time that they sat down was to have their picnic and on a few fairground rides, apart from that they were running around all day and they and I had a fantastic day out and about in the sunshine.

Ripper, I'm not sure that a picnic, some fairground rides and watching children running about puts you in a position to look down on the rigorous exercise in the morning, watch tennis in the afternoon and then spark up the barbecue and guzzle ale in the evening elite.

Doubledecker, why have you posted without mentioning your obsessive and irrational love for the has-been Nadal?

Masturbation is not exercise, and you didn't realise because you are breathtakingly thick.

People getting criticised for taking a couple of hours out on a hot day to watch a bit of British sporting history. Got to love the Bunker!

They are a bit hit n miss at times The Vaccines both times I've seen them they were superb but when I've seen them on TV at Glasto, the set seemed hurried and not that great... 1st album is still great though.

Most bands have only got a couple of songs- the crucial thing is whether they are good ones.

Other matters of vital importance are:

Were My Bloody Valentine good?

How were the bogs?

Only seen them once. They were cak. Here's a one that sounds like The Strokes (in your dreams pal)... here's a one that sounds like Vampire Weekend (nope, not even that). One of their lighters-in-the-air slower numbers (can't remember if it was Wetsuit or All In White) was the last straw and I buggered off to watch someone else.

I'm still working my way through the Glastonbury sets on iplayer. I only watched about 15-20 minutes of theirs. Time doesn't seem to have improved them. Bad.

I thought Vampire Weekend had a good set at Glasto like,

well it takes all sorts doesnt it. I thought The Vaccines were very good last time I watched them.

Didnt see them at Glastonbury this year. Their second album isnt great so I suspect they werent as good.

Not sure what people actually want from a live band though.

The bands job is to get the crowd involved and bouncing surely?

If you go to watch live music to listen to the musicianship I suggest you watch the Royal Philharmonic.

Or some Prog rock concert from 1976.

I think you may be right. Green Day should be good.

Though I do understand that they are a band not well liked on the bunker. Not obscure enough.

Some decent acts on the main stage at Leeds like, Biffy, Green Day, Frank Turner, not too sure what to think about Eminem headlining though. I don't mind some of his stuff but don't think I'd enjoy it live.

They're playing the academy soon, they're ok I suppose.

My next gig will be Brendan Benson at the Cluny, looking forward to that.

I think The Vaccines are much more suited to smaller venues instead of big stages. I seen them in Blackpool Empress Ballroom and it was in my top 5 gigs of all time.

If you consider a Vaccines set as a good example of a band getting a crowd going, you really need to get to more gigs.

Odd non-sequitur about musicianship. Not sure where you're going with that.

I probably just need to get to SOME gigs.

Not sure about your last sentence as I am not sure where I am going with any of my posts. I just know they are not maybe meant to make sense.....or maybe they are sometimes.

Leeds would be a shitload better if it could ditch several thousand of the pissed-up over-aggressive dickheads. Good festival, bad crowd.

Glastonbury has so many different styles across all the stages that you'd be very unlucky to get a really bad lineup. Leeds is more narrow but usually pretty good.

Dibbs, is "obscure" some sort of code? Does it mean "good"? :)

Joe I'd agree about smaller venues and indoor venues and I'd say it applies to most bands. The Vaccines are just too limp and dull for me, but we can't all have the same soundtrack.

It can do. It can also mean shit, if someone says they like it just cos its obscure, to make them appear cooler than the average cool dude.
