I'm glad they won obviously but are these Lions tours massively over hyped?

Four nations teaming up against one really should win shouldn't they?

The Sky adverts and build up makes out they are under siege Rourkes Drift or something not chucking about an egg shaped ball for 80 minutes before retiring to the bar to blaked and chuck some dwarves about.

I can't wait for little discussed, hardly mentioned in fact, Ashes series to start on Thursday on Sky Sports Ashes HD.

I can't understand the Lions hype either. Maybe if I was a rugby fan I would but I prefer the 6 nations tournament when we can actually be patriotic than the Lions stuff.

Well firstly, the Lions never play at home. They only play in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

Secondly, they've just come off a full season

Thirdly, they get little training time together.

Fourthly, it's the cream of the Rugby Union world head to head.

Other than that, there's not much to it.

Ashes is great but there's two this year and you can get a little familiar with it. Lions is every four years.

The brass neck on it

My post was only really setting up an admittedly weak
gag about Sky dedicating an entire channel towards the Ashes. Although I'm not a Rugby fan I watched and enjoyed all three Tests.

Rugby enthusiast that I am, I'm firmly in the "I don't see the point of the Lions" camp. I just utterly don't, sorry. :confusion-shrug:

One tip though PJ: I wouldn't wait until Thursday before checking out the Ashes channel ;)

I'm a traditionalist you see. Test matches start on a Thursday, and that is when my Test Matches start.

I will also be swerving day five as we all know Sunday is the rest day.

2nd test start on Thursday 18th. Seems odd as there used to be 10 days between matches.
