And hopefully not! young players who have not really done it elsewhere or have had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus are the way to go. This policy did a certain Mr Clough no harm- Compton is an interesting signing and the type Cooper will be likely to uncover. He obviously new Compton from his (brief) time at Bradford and has obviously seen something in Niall Rodney he's got on trial.
For once as the season starts I have a bit of trust for our management duo and hope they can polish turds. I hope they turn out to be a Clough and Taylor type partnership. never really trusted Wadsworth, Turner or Neil Cooper to have us fighting fit and prepared for the season ahead.
If the names from Boro come in on loan we are rumoured to be getting (Main and Reach would be great for us) plus one or two others in and Howard ships out I'm feeling optimistic! Lets have no repeats of the like of Solano, Howard etc or players Like Paul Robinson or Michael Proctor we have had in the past. who do nought and you end up wanting rid of by September. Good to see Mr Flinders is still with us -for now at least.

Give me 10 players like Compton over 1 like solano.

Worth a shout at the time n I don't blame the club for signing him but It was a huge disaster.

Why would we go for Reach after signing Compton?

Why do you want ten players like Compton when we haven't seen him play and have no idea of his attitude.
It's down to the manager to work out a players character, with Howard and solano wads worth and cooper failed hopefully with Compton c cooper succeeds

When I said like him I meant signings of his standard.

Young players, players with a full career ahead, not just here for 1 last pay day or a jolly boys club.

Compton might be shite, but I'd rather we signed young lads of his nature.

True but then we have had the likes of Solano and Howard. On the books already we have Monkhouse (32), Austin (30), Collins (36), Sweeney (30) and technically still have Howard (53).. I'd much prefer Cooper to bring in youth and watch them develop here and who have a bit more hunger and more to prove.
