Its strange that he was seen as first choice all season apart from when he was hurt and strangely we were better, and then goes. I could understand had he sat on the bench all season.

It's obviously for non-footballing reason if you look at the facts. Has nothing to do with his performances, or trying to improve the squad. It's purely financial, which in light of recent rumours is worrying.

So you aren't at all concerned at what the fuck is going on at the club?

What IS going on at the club? You don't know and neither do I. It could be a sign that there are financial problems, it could also just simply be an opportunity to save a few grand.

Excellent conclusion jumping there.

Congratulations.

Not really PJ. We've never heard anything in good times or bad. If it is financial problems I'll worry about it when the time comes. Meanwhile I'll worry about more important things like keeping a roof over my kids head.

Think about it, if that was the reason. Why has he played pretty much every game he's been available for.

We could only loan him out to anyone who asked if he was available for loan. Today is the last day of the emergency loan transfer window and Wednesday have inquired about him. He's been offered chance to talk to them and a deal has been agreed. Am I concerned about whats going on at the club...YES isn't every fan. There may be sinister motives behind the deal. It may simply be a footballing decision...

Wednesday Can we have Howard on loan ??....

Pools talk to him if he agrees and you agree to pay what we want to him and we have a deal.....

Now lets go back to January...Rumours galore that Howard is being watched funnily enough by one of the Sheffield teams depending on which rumour you listen to. January 22nd Howard goes off injured against Bournemouth...Returns Feb 16th... and lo and behold approx a month later is loaned out. Just maybe for all those asking why it wasn't done weeks/months ago maybe it was in pipeline and the injury put a block on it. If he'd not got injured maybe he'd have gone before end Jan and we'd used money to sign those Newcastle lads and maybe some more experienced player(s) just my opinion based on absolutely nothing at all. But everyone else has an opinion about when he should been got rid of. Which I agree with should been months ago, I blame the injury

Facts are he's played against every team this season and scored past 1 is this good???

You say it has nothing to do with form but on the same note if he was playing well and scoring regularly would he be allowed out on loan?? I'd say no. To me he's gone because he's not good enough and if we can save some money or bring in someone out of work then good on pools. This is only a sinister move if you want it to be. Sheff wed want him and they can have him.

Why did he play every game when available, iv been asking that question since August. The word clueless seems to pop up as the general answer

I'm glad he's gone. Hopefully James can come in and help restore a bit of pride n score some goals, it shouldn't have taken this long.

Never known pools loan out a first team regular before at this stage, or at any other time. Might be worrying, might be reading too much into it. It's certainly weird

Your not even reading what I'm writing. I agree he is terrible, I'm over the moon he's gone. What I'm saying is he hasn't suddenly been let go because of form. If that was the case he wouldn't of played all season. He's gone because he's either spat his dummy out or the club want to save a few quid. Not cos Hughes and co have just realised he's shit overnight after playing him week in week out all season.

He didnt get injured until the third week of January. About a fortnight before that Hughes was singing his praises, saying he was the main man, and that we needed the rest of the team to feed off him. He got them goals at Sheff Utd after Christmas and suddenly he was the dogs bollocks.

So in the middle of January Hughes didnt want to offload him because he thought he was the clubs star player. Not only that he wouldnt have anyone even questioning the wisdom of 90 minutes of Howard every game.

2 months later he's come to the same conclusion almost everyone else reached pretty quickly, that he was fucking dreadful, uninterested, and we didnt need him.

Given we are far from mathematically down and Hughes has been moaning about his lack of options, two scenarios are likely.

1) The club hasnt got a pot to piss in, and given the chance of saving a few bob they have jumped at the chance.

2) Hughes has finally come to the conclusion having the highest paid player at the club, training as and when he feels like it, and spitting his dummy out after the manager had the temerity to sub him is actually lowering already low morale even further. Hoy in the fact Stevie Statue was less than impressed with the support he was getting off the fans it was mutually beneficial for him to fuck off.

Hopefully he has played his last game in a Pools shirt, and his mate Barron will be fucking off too before too long. Good riddance.

Then again perhaps IOR are getting revenge for the Cardiff play off final and doing their best to sabotage Sheff Wed ?

Stevo......

We're there any offers for him before today?? if not then it makes perfect sense. As for playing him all season there's nobody more baffled than me by that decision. Saving money is we're I have it but to say it was for non football reasons seems strange. We wouldn't let a good player go out on loan when in this situation.

As said hopefully Barron follows quickly

IOR accept what 99% of the actual fans have that the season is wrote off. Highly surprising or unexpected

Dunfermline have made 8 players redundant today, including their captain Jordan McMillan. Wonder if Hughes is familiar with any of them?

Are SW interested in any more past it players? We have a bountiful supply for them. as for Howard, i'd rather have Popeye Howard back in the team than Steve 'I'm important' Howard.

My daughter is going out with his son, the potential for producing the next footballing superstar is there.

The reaction of the Wednesday fans though is very very funny.

Whatever this says about the finances and commitment of IOR for me it's more about Hughes' position as first team coach. Howard has always been Hughes' first choice striker whether we agree withit or not. To have him loaned out when mathematically we can still stay up must be a blow to his authority.

I see it as a positive because I thought Howard should have done so much more for the team and scored a lot more goals. The quicker we can get rid of him and the likes of Monky and Luscombe the better.

Could be a big positive. Howard, last summer's carthorse signing and Barron's best mate, spat his dummy after being subbed. Out he goes, maybe Hughes has decided enough is enough and started the clearout early?

I wouldn`t read too much into this, When he took over he wasn`t up to speed with Howard, now he knows he is tom tit and that is why he has been farmed out, we will sign an unknown forward who will set the ground alight and then be imprisoned for arson

Wasn't up to speed?

He was gushing over Howard like a smitten school girl from the first minute.

Get the ball to big stevie

Play off big stevies knock downs

Defenders won't like playing against big Stevie.

He was more than up to speed he was his main man, if I wasn't for his injury I doubt he'd ever got dropped.

Some how I think we've got the better end of the deal, strange to farm Howard out so late, guess Wednesday just want to make sure they're in L1 next year.
I have long suspected all is not right behind the scenes-Howard for me has been one of our most disappointing signings ever. I can't see him playing with us again.
Rats and a sinking shiome to mind.
Who are we bringing in on loan incidently LOL?

Who cares? Whatever happens now Howard won't be starting or coming ion as sub. Isn't that a step in the right direction?
