Can anyone tell me...if you save computer files but don't open them for ages, would they be moved somewhere else other than the folder you put them in?
What I mean is, when I open my folder, only recent documents seem to be available, not ones from a few months ago. I'm sure I've not deleted the ones I'm looking for

why not run a search for your files
start
search
type in file name

Yes, lost forever I'm afraid. But to answer Mr Poolpower I think designating a PC a 'safe place' is very debateable. (and, you're not a gentleman after all!!)

Have had a very challenging afternoon ....1st the printer gave out and tried to tell me the replacements were incompatible (they weren't, in the end......and I've never worked out why it needs coloured ink anyway when I always print in black). Then me files got lost.
Well I've done the tantrums and the terminal depression. Now as Gigha says: mingingfeckingrooney.
